Rimmel Sunshimmer Water Resistant Instant Tan Wash Off Matte - Medium

I have used this product for years and I’m very glad to see it is still being made, although the packaging has been updated. This is a *wash off* tan product. It comes as a thick, darkly stained, gel-like liquid which needs to be applied with a glove/mitt or a sponge of some sort as it is staining to the hands, however it washes off with soap and water. I use this mainly for my face all year round and I apply it instead of/in combination with a foundation. I apply it with a foundation brush in circular motions and it gives a tanned warm glow without blemish coverage, so more of a stain, but it looks natural because of that, and often it’s all I need to wake up some glow. You only need a very small amount of product as it goes a long way. I have dark skin so I use the darkest shade, but it is quite dark. In the summer I use this on my body, especially my legs and it looks really natural (and can pass at thin denier tanned tights) it doesn’t streak if you apply quickly in circular motions and it is not waterproof. It dries very quickly and completely, feels comfortable and does not transfer to clothes unless you apply it an area that’s likely to get sweaty. Note: do not use immediately after a moisturiser or it will roll into tiny balls on your skin, let your moisturiser absorb completely first and don’t use anything too greasy, use a high water content moisturiser. Quick and easy to use for a temporary summer glow. Years of use means I can recommend this product.

I haven’t purchased this since my younger days and thought I’d give it another shot! OMG - so easy to apply (I used a tanning brush). This tan is good for one day needed tans as does go a bit blotchy if get wet but once it’s applied, it’s not tacky like most tans and doesn’t give streaks throughout the day. I tend to apply this if I’m wearing shorts as it makes my legs look 100% better. Literally takes 5-10 minutes to apply and dries into the skin so fast so can get on with the day! Brilliant product.

Covered evenly following exfoliation and shower. Was applied during very warm weather. Lasted well through a hot and humid evening and night. No noticable transfer to bed linin. However rinsed straight off in shower without soap or washing. Basically lasted 16 hours.

I love this product. It stays on for at least 24 hours and gives a nice natural tan. It even smells nice too.

Excellent product. Easy to apply (I used a brush) and it stays put. Gives a natural look which you can build on if you want darker. It didn't rub off on clothes or bed linen. In fact, it needs a thorough good scrub to remove in the shower, but it does wash out of your towels if you didn't quite remove it all lol!

Cannot believe that I can still get this amazing stuff! I'm 51 n I used this alot from the age of 13! Still as amazing as then n the smell is the same too. Smells like perfume not the biscuit smell like other tanning products. It dries really quick n when U use a kabuki brush to apply it it is absolutely amazing. Never faulted at all. Easy to wash off too. Great for my legs which are so pale they look like milk bottles. No lie. Just look at the pics 😂 but the pics don't do it justice. I've used the medium shade so it gives me a lush golden glowing tan that doesn't look fake, streaky nor patchy. I've tried so many tanning products n this by far is THE BEST! Thanks Rimmel. I really like this product! Great coverage, easy to apply. Non-transferring to clothes. I followed everyone's lead on making sure it is fully dry before getting dressed. It didn't leave extra pigment on the knees, ankles, or elbows, which is a first for me! I used a self tanner brush to apply and it was easy to evenly apply. It adds a nice color boost without appearing orange. Would definitey recommend and I will buy again!

I've been using this product for years - with a glove/pad is best but also works fine with your hands. Goes on easily and smoothly, you can see it as it goes on so no nasty surprises later! No night before prep required. Dries quickly and washes off easily in the shower.
