BALLIIHOO 5 Gallon Pressure Barrel With Full Co2 Control System - 16gram Bulbs And Pressure Gauge

Not used it yet but will transfer from fermenting bin into the barrel in 3 or 4 days. I ordered from Baliihoo on Friday 18th, it was delivered Saturday 19th. Unbelievabley fast as not on prime, just standard free delivery. Hats off to baliihoo. The barrel is sturdy and all the equipment looks really good. So many barrels to choose from, but I'm really pleased I chose this one. Also, I'm in Bristol, Baliihoo is in Cheddar and I like to support local business's.

I have not yet had a chance to use this product but inspection it looks and feels well made.

I wasted a brew because I thought that I had tightened the cap down sufficiently by hand but I was not getting any pressure. On listening, I realised that the cap was leaking CO2 but could not tighten it enough to stop it.The solution was a very large set of grips that I use for replacing the fuel filter in my van. It is now sealed but it should not be necessary to do this.Not recommended and if I could I would have sent it back.Update: Upon close inspection, the top of the threaded part of the barrel was not level. The solution was to sand it down with medium sandpaper on a flat piece of wood. It now seals nicely with only hand pressure.

Tried out this barrel with great success. The pressure system works a treat, easily used and I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a serious beer drinker. I bought this barrel from Balliihoo and when it came it had a small leak. I contacted Balliihoo about this problem they immediately dispatched a new barrel without any fuss. I cannot praise this company high enough and would recommend them to anyone without any hesitation. Because of this excellent service I will not be buying any home brew equipment from anywhere else.Well done Balliihoo

Up until purchasing this, we'd been brewing in  Home Brew - Pack Of 24 - 1 Litre PET (Plastic) Clear Bottles  which has always resulted in brews that are a little cloudy, always drinkable but just not terribly appealing to look at and a little "yeasty" to taste. This fellow has made it easier to produce a crystal-clear brew.On the downside, you can't fit the thing in a fridge, and any bottles filled from it lose their fizz quite rapidly.It's a bit of a trade-off, but totally worth it.

Leaking tap joint Ruined floor. Lots of good reviews (which in fairness I accept I had a bad experience) for this product but it’s not foolproof. There are instructions for the cap. But nothing else. Apparently the tap can become loose or dislodged if knocked in transit. (So why not warn the customer of this? Also there was no damage to the box) Or perhaps the pressure barrel can leak if primary fermentation has not completed? (Despite the cap having a pressure release valve. And primary had completed). I was refunded. Do yourself a favour. If you buy this check the tap is fitted correctly. Save your floor.

After transferring my fermented mixture to my new Ballihoo barrel I noticed the barrel 'wobbled'. When I contacted customer services I was told "there is a slight rock on all these barrels". Had I known this I would not have purchased it. Can't return it now and Ballihoo weren't prepared to offer me anything. I also think 4.8/5.0 for sturdiness is misleading.

Perfect for 5 gallons of beer. Make sure you read the instructions though... I didn't initially and some beer leaked (blasphemous I know...) under the pressure.
