Purchased to help me put my tights on, as it had a cover, I thought my tights would be safe, as the last one I had shredded them on its sharp edges. Well first pair of tights got ripped, so not impressed, even though it has a cover, one side is Terry-towel, the other is cotton ish, but I found the one topcorner right-hand side, has a sharp edge, and it just sliced into my tights, so as I really did need this, I did a bit of adjustment, I used the plastic bag it came in, unwound the straps, and fastened the top of the bag with sellotape, so no edges were left exposed, and now it works perfectly. It's a brilliant invention, top marks to whoever invented it, but you do need to check the edges possibly cover the edge of the plastic inner then put the outer cover on it.

It's easy to use and is very sturdy

This is my second one. I bought one after a hip replacement operation almost 10 years ago. It made it possible for me to put socks on without having to ask my wife for help. That model had a minor issue with the sewing and attachment of the tapes which was easily rectified with a needle and cotton and has been changed on this latest model. The old ones were also useful when arthritis and an old back injury flared up so got use after the hip was sorted out. It also went out on loan at one stage as a friend had hurt his back and needed help to put socks on for a while. He ended up buying his own just in case it happened again. This is a replacement as the original just wore out over the years but with a large garden and a love of walking it still got a lot of use, but the arthritis still persists. Basically a good purchase for anyone that has mobility issues but wants the independence of not having to ask someone else to help with putting on their own socks at a sensible price. I fully recommend this.

Invaluable when my back really hurt, but a too much of a faff when only hurting a bit. Unfortunately the terry cloth that 'grips' the sock has loops of thread that break/pull and so it soon becomes very tatty.

This item arrived promptly and was as described in the listing. Due to my mobility and dexterity issues I struggle to put on socks and tights unaided. This device allows me to put on my socks and tights without having to ask for assistance. It's a little fiddly to start with, but once you have got the technique down its easy enough to do. Due to my health issues I tire very easily, I have to start getting ready hours before I'm due to go out, as I have to rest and do it in stages. Tights and socks would have been a no no if I was alone, but this sock aid is a big help. You can get a double one thats made for putting on tights, but you can still use this single one for tights too, just need to use a slightly different approach. I would recommend this to anyone struggling and I would most definitely buy again.

They work really well, every older person should have one or two of these, I could not manage without it. Good value.

if you have a bad back, hip, knee, ankle, shoulder, or all of these things, you must buy this sock fitter. There is nothing so simple or easy to put your socks on. I don't even have to sit down to put my socks on. it has been life-changing to not have to bend over to put socks on. seriously the energy this device has saved my body is nothing short of amazing, let alone what it has done for my feet' health and the comfort of being able to wear socks again. I have had back issues forever and recently just had a full hip replacement. As I said a life changer. BUY TWO :)

It works perfectly. Individuals unable to bend down can place the item in their socks and then use the straps to pull the sock on. I find it invaluable.
