Bright, comfortable, packs small, has a rear light. Love it.

Both the spotlight and peripheral lighting are excellent for hill running. The variable mode is good for running on roads with traffic.Really light and well balanced with the light at the front and battery at the back. I brought a spare battery to cycle between them and to always carry a backup battery.I get easily over 2 hours on full lumens.So far, no complaints.

Solid update to the original Petzl NAO plus. This torch is bright…. Really bright. But the battery life has been significantly improved and as such I did not need to charge it or carry a spare battery for my recent 29 hour jaunt. The battery lasted all night. Excellent update.

- useless picture instructions.- no explanation of how to change modes ~ Reactive Lighting/Standard. No reviewer on YouTube seems to know either.- the stated amount of lumens per 3 levels in both modes do not match performance of the unit.- eventually worked out how to switch modes (no help from "instructions"), but had no idea which mode I was in.- rear battery pack difficult to snap into place fully.- reactive lighting does not work as advertised, e.g. active dimming in proximity to an object.Look, I've been a Petzl fan for years, brilliant gear. However this Nao RL is just ridiculously complex ~ the one button operation is supposed to make mode selection easy, it doesn't.Very frustrating, sent back for refund.

After about six weeks it stopped turning off and then the button switch stopped working. Not the same quality as the original version which lasted over 10 years without issue. Great headtorch for trail running if they sorted out quality and cheap button switch. After 28 days you can’t return to Amazon and Petzl won’t provide a prepaid return label so it will cost you to return the faulty product and you are left without a headtorch in the meantime. After 40 years of using Petzl torches it leaves a bad taste. Next time will look for a better quality alternative.

Très satisfait, arrivé dans les temps, lampe tres legerte, bonne autonomie de la batterie. La fonction automatique fonctionne bien. Il faut s'y habituer. Comme mentionné dans les instructions lors de sport rapide comme le vélo la fonction standard est plus securitaire. Je suis bien satisfais.

This thing is great. I've tried a few other head lamps that were cheaper. But this one is superior. It's light weight, and the mass is balanced on your head. I was a little sketchy at first about the type of head band but now I'm very happy with it. It's such a light touch that I almost forget I'm wearing it. And the battery is superb, I can run the light all day and only lose 1/2 a charge. Some of the cheaper head lamps I tried had junk batteries that would lose voltage over time resulting in a dimming effect. This light stays full brightness all day long. I'm talking longer than 12 hours of continuous use. My guess it would go 24 hours but I've not tested it.UPDATE: Ok, I have tested it for two days. Keep in mind this thing has two modes, adaptive and fixed or whatever they call it. Adaptive is the default whereby the light intensity self modulates based on ambient. But sometimes you might not want it to; you can switch to fixed by holding the button down for a few seconds. All my testing so far has been in the default mode.So, I have now run it for two 14 hour days; I get up by 0400 and run the light continuously until 1800 hours, 6 PM. I have now confirmed it will run two days with battery to spare, ~1.5 bars. When I shut it off yesterday (after two 14 hour days) it showed 2 of 5 bars on the battery but when I plugged in the charger the second LED was blinking so I figure I had about 1.5 bars left.I wear it all day, with all other lights in my 3200 sq. ft. shop shut off unless I need to light up a work area. I'm seeing a noticeable decrease in my KwH electric usage. I'm estimating $80-$120 decrease per month. This thing will pay for itself in less than two months. I'm in California where I'm paying 42 cents per KwH, sometimes as high as 65 cents in the summer. YMMV.
