A good introduction to the Raspberry Pi taking the reader on into more advanced usage.
The later chapters are very good value. The beginning is a good coverage of the basics and getting started, but I had assumed the book would start with the assumption that the first steps had already been taken.

Lots of good projects to get you started.
Purchased alongside Simon's 'Programming the Raspberry Pi' which is recommended for begining Python users. The book gives many ideas and includes linking with the Arduino.

No coverage of the Raspberry Pi 3
I was bought this as a birthday present having borrowed the first edition from the library. I was disappointed that the Pi 3 was not covered. As Simon writes for the Radpbery Pi foundation I would have this he would have been given the heads up about the Pi which was released 3 months before the book was published.I have to say the book should have been put on hold whilst it ws updated, rather than rushing it it.I would like to add that I did write to Simon and got a very nice reply.I would wait until the book is updated again.
