Big improvement over the 1st one
I used Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus, and the first EA Sports Active, each for several months, so I think I have a good idea how they compare. This is the best so far for me. Both the Wii packages were too gentle. Apart from press-ups, sit-ups and running on the spot, nothing in them burnt calories or built strength. They were a good starting point, but once you reach a certain level of fitness, there's nowhere to go.The first EA Sports Active was a big change in effort. Much harder work-outs and you can really push yourself and work up a sweat. Many times I needed a rest day to allow some ache to recover. But there were some important things missing, like the push-ups and sit-ups I had been doing with the Wii Fit. Even though I was getting fitter, my abs were getting weaker!More Workouts fixes these problems, and adds some good warm-up and cool-down routines too. I like crocodile twist and windmill stretches.Sadly, unlike the move from Wii Fit to Wii Fit Plus, EA Sports didn't include all the activities from their first disk in this. I miss the in-line skating and side lunges. This makes good use of the Wii Balance Board, with many step aerobics routines, canoe paddling, push-ups and a few more. The use of it to weigh yourself is fairly useless as it only give results to the nearest Kg.It's not as much fun as Wii Fit Plus, and I still use that to keep a daily log of my weight and play snowball fight and slalom skiing. But it is the best workout I've tried so far. I've lost weight, built muscle and feel a lot fitter than I've felt for many years!

Not for the unfit
I had great hopes for this game, I thought I could use it continue trying to get fit, but actually it isn't made for the very overweight or very unfit like me. The 6 weeks challenge focuses too much on muscle exercises, which are often too hard for the beginner, and not enough on cardio, which is what I need to lose weight. I feel after doing my 6 week challenge exercises I must go and do some cardio in order to keep the weight coming off. Plus it really should come with the accessories, although I have made my own and bought some resistance bands.I hoped this game would keep me from getting bored with exercising, but I don't think it will at all, I am already getting bored and I haven't had it long. I hope I can stick out the 6 week challenge at least.Disappointing all in all. If you are unfit, or very overweight, don't start here!

Great exercise for busy mums!
This is a fabulous fitness game. I have been using this since Christmas on our new wii having done no real exercise since having had children 3 years ago. I started on the medium intensity 6 week workout which is great. You can choose how many sessions you do a week ( I do 4) and medium intensity lasts about 25 minutes per session which is just right for me after busy days at work and looking after children. The exercises change every day and gradually new ones are introduced which keeps it interesting. Each session focuses on different areas of the body i.e cardio/lower/upper body. I love the cardio sessions which are based around an obstacle course/competing against your trainer in running races/skipping and stride jumps. After only 4 weeks I am much fitter and starting to get more toned which was my overall aim. For me this is much more motivating than going to a gym and lovely to watch as it is all set against a tropical island backdrop. I would totally recommend this to anyone who is thinking of starting a new exercise regimne, or someone who just wants to supplement their existing regime with new and fun exercises. 10/10!

Even better
A definite improvement on the original (still minus a star for the leg strap)warm-up, cool-down and ab work is now included which was sorely missing from the first version.More variation in the exercises is a welcome change (if you have the first one you will be bored of lunges),and the obstacle course and running sections are far more appealing than the old running track. This has been extremely effective for me in combination with several other Wii fitness games but this is the one I do regularly (just coming to the end of the 6 week challenge on hard and will probably start it again immediatley). The others are occasional use when I feel like doing a bit more but something different.

Ea active
I have wii fit which is ok but the EA active is much better and I am really enjoying using it. It is much more of a workout than the wii fit and there is lots of options to customize your fitness. It can be a bit tricky to get in the correct position for some of the exercises but with practice it is fine. You can use with your wii board as well for some exercises. You need to purchase the resistance bands and leg strap to be able to use this game, you can purchase these on amazon and one of the options has another game with it so extra value. Very pleased with it.

Doesn't use the first one's exercises
I just got the DVD today and I'm really disappointed. I thought I was buying additional workouts so that I could use these new worksouts AND the old workouts. Not so. It is true the exercises are new but there are only 35 of them to spread out over cardio and upper and lower parts of the body. This really can get boring. I was really looking for some additional variety by adding these to the original workout. Ahh well. It will do to help keep variety but I'll still use the old DVD and this new one.I used the DVD and I do like the change of scenery and new exercises. It seems to take longer to load in between exercises which is surprising since I had hoped this was something they fixed but instead made worse.I really wanted the EA Sports 2 but I think I'm going to wait till they have some of these things worked out. Maybe number 3 will be good.
