Is the tank glass and is the stand already assembled

The tank is glass and the stand is very easy to assemble,

how do you get the lid off the tank to replace filte

I couldn't. I had to cut the cable of the old filter to get it out, then put the new filter in but the cable had to go over the top of the rim so the lid was never shut properly again.
