The bombardment of Instagram ads had me questioning the hype, but I'm glad I gave this a try. For anyone searching like me out there- I have mid-long 2b/2c hair where ringlets form toward the bottom. I was one of those people who couldn't understand why my straight-ish hair was just so puffy, dry at the ends, and overall difficult to manage even with great products, until at 35 I finally realized my hair is curly! So my challenge is balancing hold and softness- I can get some great ringlets to form closer to my roots with strong hold gel, but they don't tend to stay as soft throughout the day and get that "product" feel because my hair is so fine. And it's just too many steps (wetting, clumping, plopping, scrunching, hours to air dry) for it to be so easy for my curls to stretch or frizz out (hello 2b, a few min outside on a windy day is sometimes all it takes). Some days I don't want to try so hard to help my curls form and I was looking for a way to simplify. Using this gel after the all-in-one styler is becoming my go-to. It does not maximize my curls, but it allows me to style with more basic brushing techniques and without starting from sopping wet, and it still gives me defined and soft curl without weighing down the ringlets that do want to form. The frizz protection is pretty good with the all-in-one as a great moisturizing base and the gel forms a decent cast. What frizz does come over time is easily "calmed" with a little water. After months of products, tactics, and time looking to embrace my curl, I was starting to think maybe straightening again isn't so bad. But this product combination has really simplified things and gives me soft, shiny, and almost weightless curls I can be confident about. It's not 100% perfect for me, but I'm giving this 5 stars because it does exactly what it promised.

I never leave reviews but this product is the real deal!! I have fine to medium type 2B/2C hair and I always struggle with products either weighing down my hair or not doing enough for frizz. This gel is so lightweight, not crunchy, but still will absolutely hold your curls. I use it alongside Miss Jessie’s pillow curls cream and finish with a lightweight oil to break the curl cast. Do it!!

So my hair just turned curly in the past six months. I’ve had straight hair my whole life, so this is quite a trip! I’ve always wanted curly hair, so rather than fight it, I decided to embrace it…which meant a whole new type of hair education. My hair is fine, but pretty thick. This product helps me define my curls without weighing them down, and definitely tends to keep the frizz at bay better than the other products I’ve tried. I use Love Ur Curls All-in-One before I even get out of the shower. After towel drying it, I use the Irish Sea Moss gel, and this is what I get after using a diffuser to dry. My hair is soft, and the curls hold. I love this product and highly recommend it.

I tried their other styler first because they have a fragrance-free version and I'm very sensitive to fragrance. But, probably because of glycerin being so high in the ingredients, with Ned or high humidity and dew points, my hair puffs out and loses definition-- frizz city. But with this gel, used by itself, I great definition and it holds up nicely even in these Mid Atlantic muggy summer days! Yes my curls will get a bit more puffy throughout the day if I'm outside a lot, but much less than with the other product. I am getting decent 2nd day hair with this and I bet in the winter, I'll easily get good 3rd day curls. I have fine, thinning, 3b/c long hair, very frizz prone. This gel feels heavy, yet I'm able to build lift at the roots with it so my hair doesn't look flat on top. I air dry. Also, this doesn't flake on me, which, after fragrance, and frizz, is the next most common reason I won't repurchase a styling product. I do notice my hair feels more tangly than usual when I co-wash, maybe because the hold is more than I'm used to.My only complaint with this gel is the FRAGRANCE! The company says despite their using synthetic fragrance, it's hypoallergenic, passed safety tests, but that doesn't matter--synthetic fragrance is a known toxin and shouldn't be allowed in any products. I really hope this company will remove the synthetic fragrance component, or better yet, make a completely fragrance free version. I don't even like the scent and I'm shocked that some people love it. It fades over the course of the day thankfully.

Very good for curly hair

Smells fantastic and keeps my hair from being frizzy

No build up, holds great caste on curl for healthy shine and definition. I lived in SWFL along the coast where it gets very hot and humid. My type 3a curls loved this product and on extra humid days I used a dime size of LUS curl cream and then a Nickel size of this gel to help during high humidity days in summer. Worked great! No frizz, great curl definition and held the cast well. No crunchy and smells great. No scalp buildup like with some products and a simple mist on additional days worked perfect toy. Sometimes on extra high humidity days I would mist hair, use a teensy amount (less than a dime size amount) in palm and spritz with a little water to liquify and then gently using palms place along hair shaft and then plump up ends with what was left for day two and 3. No build up which was great. Controlled frizz and provided definition my curls needed.
