Plenty of laugh out loud moments in "The Heat".
Hilarious movie, I really enjoyed it. An uptight FBI Special Agent is paired with a foul-mouthed Boston cop (McCarthy), to take down a ruthless drug lord. Melissa McCarthy is brilliant and hilarious as usual, playing the tough talking cop with very alternative approaches to policing on her local "patch" in Boston. This contrasts nicely with the strait laced "play it by the rule book" FBI Agent played by Sandra Bullock, who arrives on McCarthy's path to investigate the real identity of an elusive drug lord. Bullocks' OCD approach to her investigative work thoroughly irritates her own co-workers, and later (in Boston), McCarthy. Needless to say McCarthy reacts with resentful and outright hostility to this FBI Agent intruding onto her patch and the two characters, (with their very different approaches to crime fighting), clash head on. The strained relationship between the two makes for some very funny scenes in this movie. As the movie progresses, an unlikely (if at times, strained) friendship develops between the pair, leading to each accepting the other and their policing methods, by movie's end. Some very funny and memorable dialogue/one liners from Melissa McCarthy also, throughout this movie !

A good romp through the familiar territory of a cop buddy film.
I liked both actresses before seeing this film, and although the trailers looked terrible, I wanted to give this film a shot. I'm glad I went ahead as there is some comedic gold nuggets to be found throughout this film.Melissa McCarthy is standout in this, with the silliest/cliched premise she still manages to make it her own. She makes this film, peppered with profanities and wicked one liners. I knew I was in for a good time early in the film with one of the most funny and realistic chase scenes I have seen to date for those who are not superb (superhuman) athletes. Sandra bullock works well as the uptight FBI agent, but it felt very much like other police characters she has played, and she really didn't bring anything new here.Through the plot is one we have all heard before, the good upstanding officer vs the wise cracking rebel, it serves as a base for good character interactions with solid comedic timing. Overall a good film, one to sit down with a drink and laugh along with.

Great Film
This is one of those films you are either going to love or hate. I personally think it is great fun. Sandra Bullock is great, although the character is a little like her Miss Congeniality character.Melissa McCarthy is brilliant, she's funny, brutal and straight to the point. As a pair they are brilliant together, giving the film brilliant comedy throughout.I really like the storyline, its simple but works well. I like that it is 2 different forces coming together to fight the same baddie and becoming friends, kind of like a lot of the cop films back from the 80/90's.A great film, worth watching if your up for comedy and a good bit of action.

A ridiculous action flick
If this is a reflection of what the general American attitudes is of getting things done, torture, and as to it being generally acceptable to do illegal dangerous things to people based purely on their own judgement, it is a tad worrying. But forgetting that for a moment...There are a couple of moments that I found laugh out loud funny but most of it felt a tad ridiculous and awkward, I'm not sure why exactly (I guess that's subjective and some people will find that humorous); it was nice seeing one character rubbing off on the other in a way (though for some reason it didn't happen the other way round?); both main actors play characters of some similar breed of ilk as done before (though perhaps Sandra Bollock is more a different conglomeration of characteristics that I've seen her do before). It's nice to see a more female friends-buddy thing rather than a more romantic based thread or male buddy's.Yes, there is a lot of swearing. For a viewer it's a mentally unchallenging/idle movie action comedy flick.

Crazy, Funny & Hilarious
This film is funny and hilarious in most parts. In some of the scenes absolutely shocked me because I didn't know women cops were allowed to do certain stuff. If you like crazy in your face humour, then this is the film for you boys and girls. I recommend you watch it if you had a really bad day and just want a good belly laugh to blow away the dark clouds in your life. Watch it alone or with your best buddies with plenty of coca cola and tasty snacks flying around for all. Either you love the film or hate it. But folks don't take the screen play too seriously as it is just for entertainment only.
