Excellent. Good level of pigmentation gives good coverage in a single coat.

Excellent varnish easy to spray use thin coats allow to dry between coats then apply decals and washes after.

Quality varnish, but not clear coat shiny. very difficult to find definitive use instructions (for painted plastic scale models) I thin it down 50/50 then mist coat with airbrush at 18 psi, leave 5 mins then do a wet coat. Allow to dry and clear for at least a day before repeating this process.

I've gone through many white primers from rattles to "airbrush" products, this one is definitely up there with Stylynrez... In fact for my Iwata 0.3mm eclipse it's my new favourite. Ran it with my standard airbrush soup (3/1 thinner to flow improver) at roughly 1:3 soup/product with a couple drops of thinner pre-session in the cup, I was able to keep going at 25psi for 30-40mins without a single clog and the finish was buttery smooth after a couple of thin coats. Retarder kept it from drying in the cup completely (a good sign for the nozzle), an issue I had with other brands with the same sauce. Gave it a quick rub with the fingers and nothing is coming off, paint applies well to my plastic miniatures. Highly recommend this one, although would ofc suggest playing around with your thinners for best results. Points for not saying "no thinning required" on the bottle.

This is a review specifically of Vallejo Air's clear gloss varnish for use in an airbrush. Spanish manufacturer Vallejo specialises in acrylics formulated for airbrushes, and this is their gloss varnish. It flows through the airbrush easily without blocking and offers a bright gloss finish ideal for the application of decals which slide smoothly into position on the gloss surface. The acrylic varnish may be used straight from the bottle into the airbrush or thinned 4:1 with thinner or 5:1 with ‘airbrush flow improver’ (fantastic product BTW with regular acrylics but with Vallejo Air formulations not really necessary). Make sure you apply 2 or 3 thin coats and give it plenty of drying time, ideally 24 hours between coats. The varnish is supplied in a 60ml pot which covers around a square metre. It’s a good product and superior to the gloss varnishes from Tamiya which doesn’t always flow easily thru the airbrush, or Humbrol which does flow well but sometimes does not dry completely clear but can have an annoying white residue. It’s easy to clean out of your airbrush by rinsing through with airbrush cleaner, without disassembling the parts.

Really good item, was surprised how much metallic flake is really in each drop. If you add this to a normal paint colour it will lighten the colour eg red becomes more of a metallic pink. The best way I’ve found to use it is to add a little to clear gloss and apply over a base colour, this way you get a very natural metallic finish, particularly good for scale cars etc. The medium added to paint will still spray fine through an airbrush, attached photos are of a sprayed gloss black covered with the gloss (pledge revive it) and metal medium, the other is Vallejo red with the medium added and just brushed on, the finish is pretty pink, maybe a clear red over the top would help but think I’ll just gloss it. Giving 5 stars regardless because the product works better than expected and will last ages, metallic pigment is so thick. Enjoy

Use this regularly through my airbrush for priming. Does not require thinning and no issues with clogging. Adhesion and coverage are great. Do recommend looking for the 200ml bottle though as usually better value for money.
