Classy Rats Diner
This is an excellent little bait station. It comes in pieces ready for assembly. Two clear tubes, two caps and two metal rods. As previous reviewers have mentioned the tubes are very tight, almost impossible to fit if you try to just insert them straight away, (they need to be, to stop rain running down the outside of the tube and flooding the recessed tray inside the bait station). I rubbed some olive oil round the inside of the apertures and around the exterior of the tubes and voilà they shot in smoothly and effortlessly. Make sure the tubes are pushed right through and based firmly on the floor of the tray, they have semi-circle cutaways at one end which allows the bait to flow (and replenish) the recessed tray. The tubes can now be twisted to align the cutaways with the tray. The bait station can also be used with block bait and this is where the metal rods come in. You can open the bait station using the key provided, (a simple plastic key with four raised roundels) the key will turn continuously, but you will feel resistance as the roundels push against the plastic retaining claws that hold the lid closed. By gripping the lid with one hand and turning the key with the other, you will feel the lid release and open when the claws are pushed back far enough. The lid is hinged and the tubes do not inhibit the opening of the bait station. There are several locations in the tray floor for the metal rods, (I suppose for the different types of block bait) I inserted them in the holes close to the walls as I was not using block bait. Once inserted they stand upright securely and the only fiddly bit is closing the lid so that the rods slide into the holes in the underside of the lid, but even this is made easier as the holes are countersunk, so if the rods are slightly off centre they will be eased into the hole guided by the countersinking. When closing the lid simply press it down, overcoming the resistance of the claws and you feel it snap shut. All that remains is to fill the tubes and pop the black plastic caps on. To pour the bait into the tubes without spillage I cut the bottom off a 500 mil plastic bottle, inserted the neck into the tube and poured the bait into the bottle, using it like a funnel. This really is a nifty bit of design work just a shame that the customer has to work out how to assemble it. Oh and it could do with a little sign above the entrances that says "Rats Diner. Free Food for all participating Rats" But I guess that would be gilding the lily.

Took a while but it's worked!
I am so happy right now, just found my dead visitor in my garden. Blinking thing has been taunting me for months, making a lair in the border and nipping out for fallen bird food. I've spent a small fortune, first tried a pair of traps, darned rat was too big to enter the tunnel to reach the trap, although I did catch a mouse. Then I found this bait station... Looked good, and especially liked you could monitor from afar. I didn't deploy it straight away as we thought he'd gone but the holes reappeared and started seeing him under the bird feeder again. So that was it, war! Used the elixir poison also from Amazon, and placed it by a lavender hedge next to the lair, as I saw him run along there. I reckon it was mid march, took a pic of the poison in the tubes for reference. No joy for a while, filled holes in again, changed the bird feeder so starlings couldn't dessimate it in minutes (throwing seed on ground for rat).... no sign of visitor for weeks, then only last Saturday I checked the station and there had been no change but spotted that holes had reappeared, darn, then caught the beggar taking nesting materials into the hole! Considered writing a review to say the bait station sadly didn't work.. went shopping, and at lunch googled other alternatives (flushing them out being one, not quite brave enough to do that in a small garden!)......got home a couple of hours later to miraculously see one side tube had been devoured! Hurrah... Hoped it wasn't a wood pigeon... Refilled it, waited a couple of days, maybe it had dropped a bit further... Instructions on poison says 4-10 days.... Waited, no sign of visitor ( have been monitoring with a GoPro, such boring footage!), and finally today (just over a week) have just found my visitor upside down near the bait station.. so pleased that it has worked and that I don't have to go hunting for a rotting corpse. I've filled the holes in and collapsed the lair, so if it reappears I will know there are more .. the station is staying put for now.

Overall decent for the price
This product is good for the price. Unfortunately it didn't arrive by the date stated, didn't have a security bracket as stated in the description and didn't have instructions on the pack as stated in the description. It arrived a couple of days after the date stated, so i won't hold that against them. Their communication was good, replying to my message within a day.The station wasn't hard to put together at all and the lack of instructions wasn't really an issue for me, but that's not to say it wouldn't be for someone else. I don't know how important the security bracket is that was meant to come with it, but again, while I don't think it's a necessity, if it says it's included, then it should be there. None of these are hugely significant problems, but buyers should be aware. Overall I would still recommend this product, but I would also recommend that the seller either changes the description to not say things are included that aren't, or to include things that the description says are included.
