The James Bond Collection [Blu-ray] [2015]
R**R
If you can get the Blu-Rays for a good price then do not hesitate to buy it! You won't regret it.
Like many others, I bought the Blu-Ray set for £40 through the Deal of the Day during Black Friday Week. For that price you can't deny this is an awesome box set! The films themselves look superb in HD, and the sound is fantastic. Allow me to go into detail...The Packaging: I really can't understand some of the complaints on here saying the design or the packaging was a disappointment.I personally love the packaging; it's sleek, minimalist, and classy. Every other 007 box set out there looks garish and cumbersome in comparison. The usual Bond box sets take up way too much space, and that gun barrel design has just been done to death! This set, on the other hand, has an elegant black and white colour scheme with a smart sans-serif typeface used throughout. It looks stylish (its aptly 1960s design is almost reminiscent of style brands like Dunhill and Chanel), and sits nicely on your shelf alongside your other films, without being an awkward space-waster. In other words, the elegant, classy, and inconspicuous packaging neatly reflects the tastes of 007 himself. If he were to ever buy a Bond box set he'd go for this one.Lastly, I'd also mention that you can quite easily fit 2 more additional discs in the 3rd case (the Daniel Craig case). So even after Spectre is released and you've added it to the case, you could still buy the next 2 films and fit them here nicely (there's no clips for additional discs, but there are empty disc-shaped bays in both sides of the case which hold the discs snugly when the case is closed. Alternatively you can buy a proper 6-disc Blu-Ray case that is the exact same size as this one, and just swap the sleeve over). Therefore, unlike most other box sets, this one needn't become outdated for about another 6 or 7 years! The Bonus Content: Again, as other people here have pointed out, the digital copies from the codes ARE in HD. Also, you get plenty of extras on each disc. I've browsed through about half of the set so far, and each disc has well over 2 hours of bonus features on it (Okay maybe the DVDs don't, as they don't have as much space on their discs, but that's yet another reason to upgrade to the Blu-Rays...).The Films: We all know what to expect from Bond films, and we also know that the quality of the movies vary quite a bit. Even so, the sound and picture quality of these film is exceptional! Personally I think the first few Connery ones are the pinnacle of the series (Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger), and the latter Moore ones are the bottom of the barrel (Moonraker, A View to a Kill). But even those stupider outings look and sound fantastic on Blu-Ray (I plan to make a drinking game to get through these ones). The only Bond film I had on DVD is Dr No., and the Blu-Ray far and away surpasses it completely. If you're considering buying this box set but don't own a Blu-Ray player I'd honestly suggest it's worth investing in one for this set alone, rather than getting the DVDs. Especially as the price of BD players keeps dropping. The Verdict: At first I wasn't going to bother with this set, as I'm really only fond of about half of the films. But after soon realising that the cost of buying those ones individually would outweigh the cost of the box set I thought 'why not?'. Honestly I'm very pleased I did. The quality of the sound and picture, the dozens of hours of extras, and the stylish packaging make it totally worthwhile. Even the dodgy latter films of Moore and Brosnan still make for a pleasant trip back to my youth (when I received the 18-tape VHS collection for Christmas 2000), and the bonus material is always interesting, even if a little dated. The fact that there's room for Spectre (and even 2 more films after that, effectively) also helps make this an essential addition to your film collection. Not so much hours of entertainment, as months. If you like your Bond, or know someone who does, and you see this Blu-Ray set for under £50 then make sure you get it, it's worth its weight... in Gold! GREAT BLU RAY BOND SET!!
If you are a James Bond Fan (Of the spy, not the Jamaican Bird specialist) of which I am then this bluray ccollection is just superb. Yes it's a touch bland to look at & it has many special features from the ultimate dvds. I am not keen on the idea of leaving disc space for Spectre, as what do you do with your spectre box?, it's such a stupid idea & Spectre has different graphics design to this box set so looks odd, but anyway I got this set for less than £50 minus postage. Sometime ago I bought the dvd set in a stupid briefcase for £250 & the time before in a tin box that was over £100 or something only to have all the DVDs become next to worthless within the next two years & be found cheap as everywhere, So this package if bought for under £100 is an absolute bargain. I was reluctant to go blu ray having built up a HUGE DVD collection but I found a blu ray player for under £60 & I can't believe how hooked I now am on blu ray. The picture is amazing mostly, sometimes the special features are better than the DVDs & I had thought the discs would be expensive but, not so & you can pick 'em up from as low as 1p if you look. Although i did think all blu rays were all regions which isn't so, so some are off limits unfortunately. The first film from this pack I put on was my favourite Bond film for nostalgic reasons, (First Bond Film I Bought) 1985s A View To A Kill & immediately the picture is crisp & clear & oh That's not Roger Moore! yes it's so clear that you can see old Rodge is not present when he needs to lift a leg to a bad guy or do any form of action sequence. Oh well it doesn't distract too much & I know this film so well that I can tell folk of the many oops sequences. like when Zorin leans from his blimp to grab stacy & his harness is entirely visible holding him into the thing, And that is from vhs to DVD. Never mind I forgive it its faults. So yes the blu ray collection is brilliant simple as, You have a good two weeks worth of films & supplements here to watch & listen to. Roger Moore provides his own commentary on each of his films but from memory, I found that the same or similar story is told a few times & he does like to name drop a fair bit & they are not movie specific, more rather memoirs. He did a guided commetary for his film the man who haunted himself & was asked specific questions on the movie & so we got information. From what I recall you don't get much info on Bond from Moore's comments, but that was a while ago I may be wrong. Again though for the price, GREAT BLU RAY COLLECTION

Seller experience positive, region issues
The product shows that there were digital copies, however this was not the case. Three blu-rays are region coded with region B and did not work in US players. Seller was quick to respond and was willing to work with me on return and refund.

Nice collection high quality DVD's in cheap broken carriers
Nice collection, the multiple folding case does not work at all. The connection pins arrived broken. The movies are high quality with pretty long anti theft no skip opening credits.
