Complete difference. Well worth investing, though I would encourage buying the shakti mat, it is a very ethical production company.

Q: Does this help with sciatica, tight hamstrings and quads?

Are you sure your hamstrings are tight? I say that because I thought mine were for a long time but I did the 90:90 test wrong. You MUST have your foot pointed (plantar flexion) or you'll fail it every time. If they are actually tight you could try 90:90's to improve mobility. I think a good foam roller would be a better choice than the Bed Of Nails (I actually own both of these). Also, perhaps deep heat creams to improve blood flow. About sciatica, I can't say but you could research that.
