I shall be living off Beans on Toast for the rest of the week.
Bought the large size as an indulgent birthday present for my GSD. He loves anything creamy, or milky and I thought he'd be interested in this as it's made from Yak's and Cow's milk - it actually reminded me of a piece of hard, whey cheese, like a Mysost, only much firmer and denser.Compressed into a bar, this chew weighed just under 100g and measured 1" x 1" x 5" long.Comes in an airtight bag with a dessicant sachet, this has a date of manufacture printed on the outer. The Best Before is three years from date of manufacture. The chew is odourless - maybe just a very slightly sweetish fragrance. It's a good product, nicely presented without any fanfare. My dog loved this. He's raw fed, so very experienced in chewing through meaty bones and carcases and I was curious to see how long this would last.Well, he really enjoyed it. Every morsel. He had a wonderful chew and really got into it. It lasted 45 minutes, start to finish.Afterwards, he headed off to his water pail, had a good drink and then came over and gave me that slow wag of his tail and smiling, like he does when he says his doggy equivalent of "Thank You."Then he went and crashed out by the sofa.Eating the whole chew didn't cause any digestive upset and there wasn't a mark on the carpet or a crumb left uneaten.Money well spent, but I can't afford to buy him these very often, though I did notice that these are also sold in packs of five at a slightly better unit cost.Old hyena jaws isn't interested in chew toys, kongs or nylabones - it has to be a food item to engage him, and this is the first food 'chew' that he hasn't demolished in under two minutes. So I'll definitely repurchase, but for "Special Occasions" like Fireworks night (to keep him occupied), Christmas and the like. That dog eats better than I do.

Good for sensitive pup
My 4 month old puppy has a sensitive stomach, so it's always tricky introducing new chews. She's also teething and hasn't learnt to entertain herself yet, so I really wanted to get her something solid and long lasting that she loves. This chew has been great so far. She's very keen on it, it keeps her entertained for at least half an hour at a time (I take it away from her after a bit). We've had it for a few days now and she's only part way through, so it's lasting a long time. Only very small bits have flaked off, so it seems like there's a low risk of choking (compared to how she guzzles her other chews). She also hasn't had an upset stomach. Does the job!

Didn't last as long as I expected but Labrador enjoyed it
My 9 month old lab loves chewing natural treats such as cow tail tips, pigs ears, hooves and deer legs. I bought this for him to try and he really enjoyed it but demolished it completely within about 40 minutes. It works out very expensive as I can buy boxes of the other natural treats containing 10 items for a similar price.Stuffing a hoof with sweet potato and chicken pieces then freezing it is a cheaper, longer lasting alternative so I think the yak chew will be a rare treat.

Rottie loves it
This is a hard durable chew and is of a good size. My dog can get through a bone in no time and this will last a few days. She was tired within half an hour so it’s gone back in it’s resealable bag for later. This chew is rock hard. Owners should insure their dogs teeth are in good condition before using - no cracks or breaks - as the chew could easily cause further damage. The dog also needs a fairly strong jaw to get through it.You can put it in the microwave for 35 seconds to make it softer and make the ends bigger once it’s well chewed but it takes around half an hour to be cool enough to give back to your dog. It’s got a smokey smell, it’s quite potent. This actually made my dog reluctant to try it but once she did she was happy. It’s an expensive product so I’m glad it’s durable. I’ll defiantly be buying again provided there’s no stomach upset. It’s very high in protein. Not suitable for use with dogs who have kidney issues and use should certainly be limited in oldger/geriatric dogs.

Puppy adores!
At our recent puppy school session the trainer encouraged us to buy puppies Yak Chews to help with teething etc. Our Jack Russell puppy absolutely adores this chew! It lasts ages! She chews on it most days and the first one is about half it's original size about 2 weeks after starting it. It's a perfect distraction for her when she's chewing something we'd prefer she didn't. A bit pricey but really worth it. Highly recommend.

Didn't last as long as other brands?
This is the second brand of yak milk chew we have had and the first brand which we have had two or three of last a few weeks, but I gave this one to my dog and he managed to eat about half of it straight away?! It was a lot lighter in colour than in the Amazon picture and compared to the other brand. I'd buy again but I'll try any find the first brand preferably. But in general I find yak chews great, nice to have hanging around on the floor (if you dog doesn't finish at once) than pigs ears, bones etc! But it does a take a while for them to get into it so don't expect them to take up out immediately. Our first one was barely touched for months.

Dog loved it!!
My Labrador who is not food orientated and can be particular about what he'll eat was very interested as soon as offered this.He spent the next 10 mins playing with it before he settled down to munch and munch and munch. Giving me the looks that said "I like this mum" ears perked and munching on!Minor smell as you take it out the packet but only if you take a sniffObviously I didn't try it but he likes cheese and loved this.Definately lasted longer than normal chews--remarkable for destructa-dog although I did get him the large sizePricey but he likes it so will add this to his treat list for time to timeI also bought the medium for his Vizsla pal 30 minutes for him to enjoy and keep him quiet--his mum was very happy with that!!The medium one was a bit big for our terrier friend so I had to hacksaw it in half for him--he's still at it 3 days later and hides in in his bed when not chewing on it. Will last for ages at this rate
