Did the trick, just as I hoped
This stuff worked well to keep my cat from clawing at the front door of my apartment. We had lived there several months with no problems and then she had gone to stay at my son’s place for 3 weeks while I was out of town. When we got settled in back home, she had developed this nasty habit of lying at the front door and clawing at it. The front door leads into an indoor community hallway in the apartment building, not outside. Well, I didn’t need to lose my security/pet deposit due to a clawed up door, so I went looking for a solution. This stuff did the trick. I put it on the entire bottom half of the door. It cut and applied easily, no muss. She never laid a paw on it again. When I moved out, nearly a year later, it peeled off easily with zero residue. I definitely recommend this.

12lb dog scratched through in one day, doesn't stick well
It doesn't stick well to my door, i had to use another adhesive so that it stayed up. It comes in a tight roll which is difficult to unravel and place. Then my dog scratched through it in one day, causing damage to the door (he is small, only 12lbs!). Disappointed, would not recommend.

Best option
I have 2 large dogs tearing up wood around the front door / sidelights due to seeing other people, delivery guys, cats, etc... I've repaired the front wood once and needed to prevent as much damage as possible. It needed to be transparent / not messy looking. This door protector film is transparent, seems to be thick enough not to rip easy, and has very sticky adhesive. I like that I could cut it to size to fit over the wood and skim the edge of the glass sidelights. I wasn't that good at keeping it from having bubbles because I installed it by myself. Extra hands for the installation may be required to get a seamless look. I know it will pull some paint off from scratched area when removed, however that is a small price to pay to protect the wood and to have a presentable front door area. I haven't had it on long, so I am unsure of the durability over time or whether it will change color from sun coming through glass. However it has been the best option and I have left over rolls to replenish it if it comes off or ages badly. Totally worth it so far. (I have some deep scratches from my large dogs, so totally waiting to see if it can withstand a big delivery day around black friday or christmas season this year.)

Disappointed
My cat ripped through this in one attempt at clawing my door. Dunno why this is priced so high and i regret this purchase. Probably effective for smaller animals, but I cant recommened if you have an adult cat.Update: The company was very understanding and provided a refund, so i will up the stars to 3.

A Cold Weather Nope
Initially, the door protector seemed to be working well. It stuck well enough for apparently not having actual adhesive on it, and the Great Dane's paws didn't do any damage. Nice! Then the weather turned cold (freezing and below). The little (but sufficient) adhesion that was present in warmer weather went away and I'm left with a partially-stuck, mostly-peeling, not-protecting clear strip on my front door that isn't very pretty. Efforts to re-stick it have been in vain.

Perfect solution
I’m a renter and I used these on a painted door that my dog had scratched. My landlord has just painted my place and I wanted to protect the door from being damaged again. The product is easy to cut with regular scissors. It is thin and yet does the job. My dog isn’t a violent scratcher so I no don’t know if this would protect against that.My door has a bit of texture—paint brush strokes—so the adhesive isn’t quite strong enough to adhere perfectly but it’s staying on. I imagine if the surface was perfectly smooth it would be better, but it’s staying on.

Not for aggressive scratching
My Shih Tzu managed to tear up this film of the door and while peeling of the damaged product of door the paint for my door peeled of with it. Terrible quality. Didn’t work at all
