Great value for money and water tastes so much better. Gets the lead out!
The Brita Everyday Elite Water Filter Pitcher is a 10-cup capacity pitcher that effectively filters water, including removing 99% of lead. It comes with one Brita Elite filter, which lasts approximately six months. The pitcher is designed for ease of use, with an easy-fill lid and a flip-top pouring spout. The pitcher's large capacity and long-lasting filters provide convenience and reduce the need for frequent refillsA SmartLight indicator on the pitcher alerts you when it's time to change the filter.Very fast filtering of water. Water tastes very good. I live in a small rural town and sometimes our water tastes terrible. I don’t trust that it is totally free of chemicals especially lead. The elite filter is guaranteed to remove a ton of chemicals.I find this a great value for money. Don’t keep buying bottled water, it is a waste. Keep this in the fridge and have fresh cold water at all times.I highly recommend these toothpicks Brita and the elite filters. I like that this has a battery and tells you when to change filter.

Works Well - Long Break-In
Loving this filter pitcher. It creaked a little bit when lifting it when it was full, but it’s broken in nicely. It took about 20 uses for a very slight almost bitter filter taste to go away, and after a few months the water is really tasting great (instead of just flat and highly purified). I’m not sure when this filter will stop working, but so far after a single guy using it about 6 months the filter light’s still green!

Exactly what I wanted
It’s working great, love having filtered water and not buying plastic jugs of distilled water (with all the plastic we already are eating, drinking, and breathing) and cheaper! Definitely cheaper than individual plastic bottles. Works out to 12cents a gallon getting filtered water for my steel water bottle. Great!

Function is great but could be improved with more durable plastic for the urn
I love the size and shape of this pitcher. I pair it with the elite filters because we have lead pipes, which lead/ to high lead levels in our water. I bought this to replace my previous one I obtained through Costco because that one developed a large crack along the side of the pitcher when it was accidentally (gently) knocked into the side of our sink. I wanted to like this one because the blue color matches our kitchen color scheme so well, but unfortunately it too developed a substantial crack on the side—this time even sooner on than before. I’m still using it because I can’t bring myself to buy a third one of these pitchers in the same year. As of now, little to no water seems to be leaking from the crack, but it concerns me. For the price, I would like to see a higher quality plastic that is more durable, as I have done nothing major to cause these cracks.

IMPORTANT: Read This Review Before Hitting The Order Button
Let me start by saying that this was my first Brita and I am extremely happy with this purchase. However, there are some easy mistakes to be made here -- some of which I noticed in other reviews -- and I want to share a few things I learned through the purchase and initial setup process. The most important piece of information I can relay to you is that if you are looking at the 10 Cup Pitcher, there are actually two different models at the same price. I picked the wrong one and it wasn't until I read a review that I realized I should have picked the newer version. Fortunately, I was able to cancel and re-order.The newer version you want is the Pitcher with the SmartLight. You'll notice owners who just purchased their Brita ask why the indicator light is not included. The SmartLight is pretty darn important as it keeps track of the life of your filter, reminding you when it's time to replace it.The next important piece of information I want to share is how much water can be filled in this pitcher. If you read the instructions, it tells you to fill the water to the fill line (there is a tab with a fill line in the top reservoir). If that was all you did, you would notice that you only have 6 cups of water instead of 10. What I didn't realize until I contacted Brita is that you can keep filling the Pitcher after the initial. I measured out 10 cups which took almost two fills. You'll know that you have the measurement right as the water should reside 1 inch below the round part of the top reservoir.Inserting the Elite filter was simple. Just be certain to line up the plastic tabs in the reservoir with the slots in the filter. You should have a snug fit. Push down to make certain it's airtight.Though the Brita is not the best-rated water filter out there (that would go to Zero Water), the new Elite filter lasts 6 months, effectively removes more contaminants than ever before, and as such, situates itself as the best bang-for-the-buck brand. Keep in mind Brita does not filter out fluoride. As someone who is not a fan of the taste of tap water, I was extremely surprised by how good the filtered water tasted. I have finally gotten to the point where I can stop buying expensive cases of plastic bottled water every month, relying solely on my Brita pitcher. One more thing I should add: Customer support is fantastic. I phoned to ask them about how much water can be put in the Pitcher. They answered the phone immediately and were very helpful in answering my question.Don't hesitate to purchase this Brita Pitcher.

Cracked pitcher
I'm giving this five stars because of Brita's customer service. They replaced my product without hesitation and were responsive. My box was in good shape, so it wasn't a shipping issue.
