anybody with a puck cooler needs this. in my case it was a dell 8940 it just fits and does the job, it even comes pre coated with thermal paste all you have to do is clean the old paste off the cpu. it took a week for delivery uk but it was definately worth the wait. in my experience money well spent!

If you search online for Dell XPS 8940 (mine is the i7 11th generation), you will find loads of links complaining about overheating. Basically the i9 is ok (because it has this actual cooler tower fitted as standard) but the i7 has the same basic pancake cooler as i3 or i5, which is woeful. After doing my homework first, watching some great YouTube videos I was feeling comfortable that this upgrade would work (and for <£40 it was a no-brainer). I believe that this is the exact OEM supplier for Dell and it arrived 4 days early so I was very pleased. Boxed well with polystyrene squares keeping it well protected. The great thing about this cooler is that it is made to fit the Dell proprietary holes (fits perfectly straight out of the box), it comes already with a rectangular even layer of thermal paste covered by a green plastic shield. Note: I also bought a bottle 99.9% alcohol and special cloths to clean off the old thermal paste. Watch the YouTube videos and you cannot go wrong even for a novice. CPU temps were 70-90c and now down to 40-60c, so pleased. I did not even need to change the stock rear case fan. Note: Good idea to also get a VRM Heat sink also from Amazon. A great project and so worth doing. The pc is now faster as well because the CPU is not throttling down.

Upgraded my Dell XPS 8940 with new PSU, GPU, and CPU, so needed an improved heatsink. Easy to install as the thermal past is already applied, screw alignment is exact swap. Does the job. Tip, connect the fan wires before fitting the unit.

This arrived with one of the legs bent so it would not fit the motherboard.It had to be returned and money refunded.

Huge temp decrease on my cpu and ram. Using this in a makeshift home server. Has dropped temps significantly and was very easy to mount. I was even using very high profile ram (corsair vengeance RGB PRO) that I salvaged from an old build and there was no spacing issues what-so-ever. Would recommend and is at a great price point.

劇的ではないですが、室温27度でゲームで高くなっても75度。以前は掃除して、グリス塗り替えて室温23度で、90度とかになっていたので、10度から15度下がりました。初めからグリスが塗ってありました。グリスむき出しでも大丈夫なんですかね。乾燥しないのかな？ただね！Yah𓏸𓏸ショップで5000円くらいで、新品、送料無料だったのよ！失敗したわ。。。。さらに、dell XPS8940の純正パーツなんだろうけど、接続部分の抜き差しが不便になったわ。肝心の指が入らない。始め、ラジオペンチで抜こうとしたら、抜けなくて、指で外したから、抜く時はかなり指の力が必要なのに、次、抜くことが出来るか心配しています。そこがマイナス☆1つ。

I bought a Dell G5 5090 several years ago and knew I'd need a bigger and better heatsink to handle a CPU upgrade. This one ticked all the boxes and has so far done a great job of keeping my CPU at stable temperatures while also not being overly loud or power-hungry.

I have had my Dell XPS 8940 for a few years now and recently it started locking up on me a few times a day. After doing system tests and everything passing, I downloaded HWiNFO64 and noticed that my CPU temperature was in the red quite frequently (sometimes over 100 degrees Celsius if I had a lot of programs running). I ordered this CPU fan, with some thermal paste. The install was easy and the computer has not locked up once since installing. The average CPU temperature dropped 20 degrees Celsius!
