Gizmos and Gadgets.
I liked this book a lot, It does confirm my thought that it's going to coast me quite a considerable sum to purchase all the tools I would need to make these gears to a standard I would like them. The list started growing once I started reading. The book is a great book with the patterns in an envelope on the back page.On the plus side, with a minimal outlay you can see what's needed before you start out!

Much of the same
A well produced book with clear instructions and helpful plans, just a shame that many of the projects were simple variations of well known children's toys, with little new. Many required wooden gears, in one case 9, not a problem using the machinery described but a chore if fretted by hand as suggested. Some interesting automata but on the whole uninspiring.

Good Set of Projects
Good variety of projects. Well written and complete set of plans. Insert at the back contains some plans - which are a bit fiddly to copy - while others are included on pages describing the projects. I enjoyed making many of the projects and have got some Christmas presents covered as a result. Will come back to this book again!

Imperial measurements
Measurements are in imperial not metric, which confused my son, though his grandfather (and elderly tool selection) were right at home.

Interesting
A very interesting book with some attractive projects, but the more complex ones do require a comprehensive machine shop.
