Easy entry into myths and legends
Who does grow up without hearing stories of unlucky 13 or a black cat crossing the road? Yeah, these are superstitions. There are so many lots of such superstitions, folklore, myths, and legends. We mostly know the effect of certain things, but not the origin. Through this book, the author In this book has curated the origins, history, and facts of 88 of the most popular Superstitions, Folklore, Myths & Legends. This book is a compilation of various stories on such matters. I personally found the book too adorable. The stories are easy to read. Each topic comes with a brief summary as well as a small drawing, and also comes with a brief history of the myth. The anecdotes about each myth and legend are short and concise and the illustrations are so connectable. You will find yourself doing certain things in your everyday life and setting a connection with the stories. Overall, a very interesting read.

Fascinating
My Theater Arts teacher was superstitious. If anyone whistled in the building, she would send them outside and tell them to spin around three times and then they could come back in. This book has many of the ones you are used to hearing about and many others. One that I found interesting was spitting to ward off evil. I feel like I had an epiphany. Growing up watching western movies I noticed a lot of spitting during confrontation. Now I’m wondering if the spitting individual is insulting the other. Maybe I’m reading too far into it, but it still seems interesting. The illustrations are nice to have along with each “story” and some of them are just the cutest and funny. There are so many interesting myths and everything in this book that I didn’t know about. It's truly fascinating and now I really want to look further into all of these.

Fun read
I learned a lot from this book. Some superstition I already knew but a lot of the others it was my first time hearing about it. Especially don't speak when the clock is chiming, that was totally new to me. Also, as a book of superstition and folklore these things aren't knew concepts, it is written was written about before. Why isn't it there isn't any reference or citations. I would have loved an added touch it the author had written some imaginative short story to represent each myth, superstition or folklore. I enjoyed the artwork in this book.

The book digs deeper into the legends and superstitions.
I have never believed in superstitions or any myths of any kind. Though, they have always intrigued me enough to know about their origin and how they came into being. Knowing in-depth about their origin and popularity would have been impossible if not for this book. The book digs deeper into the legends and superstitions and gives vivid explanations of how they originated and became an indispensable part of our culture. The author has given a detailed analysis of several popular myths, like why not to open an umbrella indoors, the story of lady luck, the curse of the Bermuda triangle, etc. Besides, being a fun read it adds up to overall knowledge and gives a very different perspective on all these things. I would recommend this book to all who have an interest in digging deeper into the folklore and myths that we hear while growing up.

Cool book about superstitions and legends
The whole idea of this book is awesome. There are so many stories behind different superstitions, myths, and legends. The stories range from the original idea behind the horseshoe, the four leaf clover, and even crossing your fingers. It was fascinating to learn what Ancient Persians and Greeks believed about some constellations. Also, The Venda, a South African Bantu people, believed that the stars were hanging by cords from the solid dome of the sky. I am really into stars and astrology, so this section was especially interesting for me. But there are lots of other stories behind many of the myths or superstitions that we have today. Have you ever avoided opening an umbrella indoors? Now you can learn where that superstition came from. Great little book!

Loved this book!
This is a book for all age groups. I totally enjoyed reading this one. The language is simple yet engaging. We all would have been in a situation where we do something and a person who believes in superstition comments on it - a good way or bad way, it definitely affects a few of us, and few others pick on that and follow to do later. Knowing the real reason and having understood why those came was really entertaining.

Great fun, I don't know how anyone could dislike this.
Loads of fun little history lessons on all the myths or the term they seem to have coined, "survival memes" which I like a lot. There were many different interesting reasons the myths were created, including snipers and moonlight. Our ancestors did these things for practicality, spirituality, secret codes, and some that are just weird that I can't figure out, possibly just money spinners. A totally enjoyable experience from start to finish.

Learnt a lot about superstitions
First, I really like the quality of the paper, especially the front cover! Then, I learnt a lot about superstitions like for example, why you use the pronoun "she" while talking of a boat or why you should never speak ill of the dead. It was surprisingly very interesting, each story is quite short and goes straight to the point (most of them fit on a single page). The illustrations are cute and I might want to color them at some point ahah! It's not just plain text so that's quite nice! :)
