This spectrum math grade 6 workbook is helpful for us this summer keeping up with our math skills after sixth grade. I chose this so that the work would be familiar to my rising seventh grader they could get extra practice on the things they just finished up in sixth grade. My kiddo has been working independently. There is a table of content in the beginning of the book outlining all the subjects, and there are answers in the back of the book as well. There are examples in each chapter on how to do the math work in case the kiddo gets stuck. I would buy this again.

Spectrum workbooks are great for extra practice at home. The lessons are well organized, and the exercises provide a good mix of practice without being too overwhelming. They’re easy for kids to follow and helpful for reinforcing skills learned at school. We’ve found these workbooks to be a useful addition to our child’s learning routine.

I purchased this Spectrum because it’s the brand used at my child’s school. Hoping it will follow the school math curriculum I purchased the level she will be attending this coming summer. My child will have finished it 1-2 weeks before school starts. I encourage self learning and have the child learn by themself using the instructions and examples. Sometimes when it’s confusing Ai is wonderful in explaining why and how in multiple ways geared towards a child. So Ai+this book and just 1-2hrs each day during summer break has gotten her ready for the next class!

My child found that the writing space was insufficient, and consistently expressed needing more space. If your student needs the challenge and is learning ahead, the explanations were little lacking.

I highly recommend this book. I love the examples provided. Very clear to read and understand. Each section provides ample opportunities for practicing the targeted math skill. I ordered this for my son to practice during the summer to prepare him for the sixth grade. It is keeping his brain, active and engaged. He doesn’t necessarily enjoy having to do math during his summer vacation, but this book makes it so it’s less daunting.

Good workbook for sixth grade. It seems to follow fairly closely to the curriculum progression at my child's school which makes it easy to reinforce the foundation of their learning.

I am a math teacher and I use spectrum brand workbooks. Usually they’re great, but this grade 6 one irritates me and I avoid it as much as possible. Several pages are way too hard for 6th grade. I skip those pages and use them for my 7-8 graders. And now I try to use Kumon and Humble Math brand for 6th grade.

It’s a very good book for math practice skills. It helped to improve my son’s math skill.

It has arrived 2 days later . 7 pages is USED by someone else . It is bended . Unbelievable . I am shocked . My child couldn’t benefit from the book .

Great book. I like the structure. Good to introduce expressions/ equations and other concepts that are introduced later here. Why is that so? No clue but this is US curriculum and not something as advanced as Chinese or Korean. Please get with the program Canada!
