R7 bulbs vary widely in price. The 'cheap' ones seem to blow within a very short while of their installation but even the more expensive ones no longer seem to last as long as they used to. Only two of these five bulbs have been used so far and both are still working a few weeks later so they have passed their first test. Now the question is: 'How long will they last?' If I can get 1,000 hours over the course of a year I'll be satisfied, and I probably will get this from a few of the bulbs, but past experience is that for some inexplicable reason the bulbs must minutely differ from each other as one or two from a sample of five (if they survive the first burn-in of a few hours) always seem to fail prematurely, say after a month or two. By contrast, a R7 which lasts for more than 1,500 hours has never been my pleasure to own! But I continue to hope I'll get lucky.

Bought these after the bulb in my ceiling fan light had blown and I couldn't find any in the shops.After reading the numerous reviews about them not lasting very long, I didn't expect too much, however, at the moment, we're still using the first one out the pack, so nice to have some spares.Nothing wrong with these!

easy to fit and good value for money

Advertised as 100W, but lamps have 80W printed on them!

Worked as expected, glad to have been able to purchase as very shops stick these particular halogen bulbs

What do you say about light bulbs other than they were received on time and well packaged. The first bulb tried worked intermittently causing the lamp to suddenly go out even though it worked when first switched on . In the end I changed the bulb and binned it fitting another bulb which has worked perfectly. I just hope that the remaining three bulbs work perfectly as well. Overall apart from the initial bulb failure this purchase was fine.

Bought these on 1 Oct 2012, and installed one three days later. I've just changed it out for the first time -- 27 Jan 2015. The lamp is used every day, so top marks for reliability. Good light too. Only slight niggle is the bulbs are 80W, not 100W. Makes no difference to me, though, as they're plenty bright enough to light the area they're used in.
