Sewing Happiness: A Year of Simple Projects for Living Well (Sanae Ishida Sews)

Refreshingly simple.
This Sewing Happiness is more than an instruction book as it follows the author through Covid and lockdown, a time that we all remember and can empathise with her emotions. She explains how she used sewing to help her deal with the stress and fear she experienced, emerging fairly unscathed and with a new found skill. Wonderful read, and I will be trying some of her makes.

Wonderful book!
My son bought this book for me on Amazon and I love it! It is so much more than a sewing book as it is so interesting to read about the author's journey to health, starting from being very ill through to being physically and mentally well! I'm really enjoying it.

Lovely - a real must for any sewer
I brought this book awhile and due to having the flu, settled down to read.Read the lot in one sitting, I couldn’t put it down. It beautifully written and really makes you stop and think.Although I’m still yet to make anything, it’s given me lots of ideas and has real inspired me (once I’m feeling better).

Book
Great book. Shows that stitching isn't only to use fabric. It is a great mental health tool and can take you to a different place.

What a wonderful book... an lovely narrative and simple well thought out projects which are so aesthetically pleasing. Just what I wanted... can honestly say I would make everything and have ordered fabric to begin 3 projects. A triumph! Thank you

This book has lots of projects which are not too difficult to tackle in my opinion. It is also an inspiring account of how the author made her way back to health through taking up sewing again.

Very attractive book but more style than substance
I bought this as a gift but a quick glance led me to return it as, although it’s very stylishly put together, many of the projects were pretty basic and the text wasn’t exactly full of earth-shattering insights either. It’s the sort of book I’d be really happy with if bought from a discount store but felt wasn’t worth its cover price as it was far more style than substance.

Lovely little book with a great range of projects for someone who is both a sewing beginner or someone with a bit more sewing confidence. I initially bought one as a present, but ended up buying another for myself, so am looking forward to getting stuck in.

Lots of beautiful pictures and clear instructions
A truly lovely book filled with projects that will make you want to make every one of them and a story that was well told and really resonated with me. Lots of beautiful pictures and clear instructions. The projects are both simple and elegant. My only complaint is that I want to show all of my crafty friends and family my fabulous new book, but not until I have made their Christmas presents from it! Haha!
