Excuse Me!: A Little Book of Manners

Great little book
My grandson absolutely LOVES this book. I suspect the voices and sounds we make whilst reading it add to it greatly, though Nanna was told off by Mama when the latter overheard Nanna ad lib to the first page in the book 'of course we don't want peas for breakfast...eughhhhh!!!'Ahem...I didn't think 'no thank you' was quite the right answer! My grandson has impeccable manners for a 23 month old and I think this book has really helped him to understand the context of manners and saying please, thank you, excuse me...Lovely book - and the flaps add to the sense of story telling.

Helpful with learning manners
Really nice easy to read book for teaching manners. My daughter has learnt to say pardon me from reading this and people always comment on how polite she is at only 21 months, yes you have to reinforce the manners but it’s a great book for introducing them.

Entertaining
I got this for my 3 yr old grandson because he likes flaps. His brother started reading it to him and the print is all in large capital letters. One of the situations is the child burping (as shown on the front cover). The print says 'YOU BURPED!' in huge letters. Then you lift the flap and it says 'EXCUSE ME'. So his brother saw the capital letters and shouted 'YOU BURPED!' which made the 3yr old roar with laughter and so he kept shouting it which ended up with all of us collapsing with laughter. It was enjoyed by us all.

My Favourite of my toddler's books!
My toddler loved this book. I really liked how at the end of every action there's a page that asked "what do yo say?" I would pause a little and look at my toddler and then lift up the flap and make a big deal about saying "Excuse Me" or "Thank You" and so on. Also, I noticed that books with lots of words are not as good for my toddler's age (about 20 months). I end up skipping so that I can retain my toddler's interest. This book gets straight to the point and the child gets excited about lifting the flap and seeing what happens next. I wish I could find more books with exactly the same structure but with new things to learn.

magnificient
This product is more then I expected. Perhaps I missed it while reading dicription of it, but I was nicely supprised with flip flap pages. They add a complitely new fun dimention to that book. It is almost like a toy. Iloved it so much that I decided to buy other product by this author.

Lovely Little Book
Overall this is a lovely little book, the only reason my rating isn’t higher is due to the first example (of using manners). The child has to say “no thank you” to peas for breakfast. Even though it’s not typical breakfast food, don’t like that it could potentially encourage a child to say no to vegetables.

Cute book
A great little book for practicing manners with my 2 and 3 year olds. Very straight forward for them to understand. Lovely little flaps for them to lift and they love saying what manners they have to use in each part before they lift the flap.

Very handy
My little toddlers say excuse me after every burp now. This book is a good one. My toddlers do enjoy reading it. They are early readers and the sentences in this are easy and large. Helpful.

Great for learning manners!
I’m always looking for books to read my little ones that will teach them something. This one is so cute and perfect! My 21 month old says thank you and she’s learning’s more every day! She also loves the lift flaps, they keep her engaged. My 4 year old enjoys it to and can even read it to the baby;) it has really big flaps compared to other flap books but it’s great! Good quality and the flaps haven’t ripped so far even though they’ve been tugged on pretty hard;) great book!

Everyday situations that children can easily relate to
We have a lot of Karen Katz' books. They appeal to young and bigger kids alike (my almost 7-year-old girl still wants to read them at bedtime!)Plain, simple language. Short, but meaningful sentences. Cute drawings. Everyday situations that children can easily relate to, and learn to face while having fun. It's nice that they see in books what parents and/or caregivers tell them every day, so it doesn't look like I didn't wake up one day and made up my own rules. They realize that it's all part of living together as a society.
