In the past few months I have needed to expand my Videography capabilities due to taking on new and challenging events.Expanding my video and audio equipment inventory has proven to be expensive. To shave a little cost off of the budget I decided to use a Surface Pro as my Mixer Board. I invested in some very professional post production editing software which allows me to correct the latency issue involved with using a computer for audio recording. However, I discovered that microphones act differently when connecting through a USB configuration to a PC. There are also lots of choices when it comes to external sound cards. Just because the PC recognizes the microphone, or microphones, doesn't guarantee it will work at all.To the point:I was hopeful that this microphone would work in my configuration. If it didn't I was looking at absorbing the cost already spent with the PC Mixer and having to purchase a Mixer Board as well.I wish I could give it more than five stars! With this mic I was able to finally set up a proper Mixer. Not only is it recognized exactly as it should be by the PC Mixer Board, but the sound is incredible! It out performed every mic I have. Some of them are far more expensive. It comes with a great XLR cable that is plenty long. Add the mic holder that's included and I wonder how they're making any money on this deal.I've already ordered more of them!3-19-2019I've added a lot of equipment to my setup. I ended up with many request to record events I had never planned on previously. The audio side of my production needed a huge upgrade to handle these events. This included a professional mixer, synthesizer and software upgrades.I found I would also need to place many more mics. Since I had such great results with this mic I decided to stay with it and so ordered more of them to meet my needs. Just this last week I set up a huge auditorium event. To capture a long table, audience audio and combat the echo I was required to place numerous mics. I used the Bestshoot mics. The auditorium had a sound system and mics they planned to use. Their setup was centered around primarily a single speaker at a podium. They had three different (expensive) mics. When doing the setup and mic checks they realized theirs were not going to work! As they heard me doing my mic checks they were quite impressed. They approached me and asked if I would use my system and mics and wire the entire event. The Bestshoot mics saved the day! The attendees commented all day on how wonderful the event sounded. The city sound engineer saw how many of these mics I had and commented that he was impressed that I would spend so much money on so many expensive mics. :-)

Good product
Worked better than I expected. I have some loudspeakers directly to the side of the microphone and barely any of the audio gets picked up. As a shotgun microphone, it’s perfect. Mount is a little flimsy but that’s the least of my worries.

It does the trick for this price tag
This is a great budget mic for recording dialogue, interviews or voice overs. Tele mode gives good broadcast results and mic performs great in close range recording. It's a very usable sound if you are booming from 6ft away. Low noise levels, good strong signal. Plenty of options to do post processing on as well if needed. It's obviously not a NTG3 or an MKH 416, but for $25 it doesn't get much better at this price tag.

Minimizes background noise? I don't think so.
I bought this mic on the basis that (a) it had a 4.2 out of 5 (at the time of purchase) and (b) it was at the budget end. The description claims that the microphone is "uni-directional" and that it "minimizes the background noise".I just spent 4 hours trying to configure this microphone in various ways (directly into DSLR camera, into smartphone and into computer via Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface). I was testing this in a quiet space, but there was no configuration that I could find that did, in any way, a good job of minimizing the background or ambient noise.Bizarrely, it also appeared to act as a radio receiver as when I turned the level up (for example, increasing the gain on my Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 audio interface), it was picking up a radio station, that wasn't sonically apparent and certainly not picked up by any of my other microphones.$25.99, so I guess you get what you pay for. I've processed my return already.

nice mike
however being battery powered going into a battey powered mixer i get a wierd hum that i can not remove. Tried hum transformers and nothing seemd to work. Bringing levels really low it is not very noticable. Going to keep trying to figure it out as it seems like a nice mic.
