Note sure about an adult...I purchased this for my grand-daughter who is 12 and about 5' tall...and she loves it! It's sturdy (doesn't just "flop" all over the place) so you can rest your head and upper body on it quite comfortably. Hope that helps!

No, it would not be able to handle rough play and I would be concerned about the eyes as well as the hard stuffing inside. Look into Kong Ballistic Dog toys. I am a professional dog trainer and always recommend these for rough play.
