Very nice fit and finish
Very nice fit and finish on this 1" ball mount. It was able to just barely hold on to a 1/2" ball as well, although that's not what it's designed to be used for. The tightening mechanism is springed and turns smoothly in both directions. Overall a nicely designed and manufactured item.

solid arm, won't slip.
I really like this arm, it's heavy-duty, and the sockets are textured so they will not slip. Like the rest of the BRCOVAN stuff I have tried, it's well-built and designed. this small arm fits great for my insta360 off the frame of my bike. It's very short, so if you are using it on handlebars it probably won't work well unless you need very little rise. Don't leave it clamped down for long periods, the texture in the sockets will deform the rubber on the ball mount.

RAM arms are better and not much more expensive
I got a few of these BRCOVAN arms. In general they are fine, but I would still recommend genuine RAM mounts unless you fall into a few specific use cases.COMPATIBILITY:In general these seem to be sized the same as comparable RAM Mount products (I compared medium and short arms). The length looks almost exactly the same, and the socket fits RAM B balls nicely. It should function as a "drop-in" replacement for RAM arms. I attached some photos showing this arm next to a genuine RAM arm.HARDWARE:These appear to be anodized aluminum with stainless bolts. They should hold up to outdoor elements nicely. Some of the RAM mounts I have are actually painted aluminum, but I think this is an older style and I believe all the new arms from RAM are powder coated. I think the powder coating on the new arms from RAM is a more durable finish than the anodized coating on these arms. I am glad to see BRCOVAN using stainless hardware for the bolts.STRENGTH:I believe the BRCOVAN arms will be weaker than the comparable RAM arms. The BRCOVAN arms are thinner aluminum, and they have some sharp angles where the load is on the arm. In general, I was taught you shouldn't have sharp angles where there is load, because the stress can concentrate there and it's easier to form a fracture in the metal. That's why a lot of really well designed products have fillets in the inside corners.OPERATION:The operation of these arms is pretty self explanatory. Snug it up and you're done. However, there are a few things to note:1.) The operation is nowhere near as smooth as the RAM arms. I believe this is because RAM adds a nylon washer between the turning handle and the arm body -- this give a very nice and smooth operation. The BRCOVAN arm just uses a metal washer, leading to a rough and gritty feel (and reducing the amount of torque/clamping pressure you can apply)2.) The knob on the BRCOVAN is metal, and is smaller than the RAM knobs (which I believe are nylon). The net result is the RAM knobs are more comfortable to use, and you can get more torque on them for a tighter clamp.3.) The sockets on the BRCOVAN arms have "siping" (not sure if this is the right terminology) -- ridges in the socket that I believe are meant to help grip down on the rubberized RAM ball. The siping on the two socket halves is actually aligned in the same direction from the factory. I believe this will allow for greater resistance to ball movement in one direction (perpendicular to the siping) but less resistance to movement in the other direction (parallel to siping). You can actually loosen the hardware and turn one of the halves 180 degrees, and then the siping on the two socket halves will be perpendicular to each other (net result forming almost a cross-hatch pattern), which I believe will be better for resisting movement in all directions.4.) The BRCOVAN arms have more springs than the RAM mounts. This can be an advantage or disadvantage. I like that the short arm has a spring in it -- the RAM short arm doesn't have a spring, and having a spring leads to easier assembly. However, the double arm from BRCOVAN has two springs, whereas the RAM arm has only one spring on one side. I actually prefer having one spring on one side, like in the RAM Mounts. The reason is I frequently use this to provide a small amount of clamping pressure on one of the balls as I'm assembling a system to help keep things in place while I get everything tightened up. On the BRCOVAN arm, both sockets clamp at the same rate, making setup a little more difficult.ADVANTAGES:So in general I think the RAM mounts are a better product. However, there are two areas where the BRCOVAN has them beat:1.) The BRCOVAN is a lower profile arm. If space is severely limited in your application, the BRCOVAN might be a winner. The arm is thinner than RAM arms, and the knob is small, resulting in a smaller overall package at the expense of strength and ease of use.2.) The BRCOVAN is slightly cheaper. Only by a couple dollars, but if you're buying a lot of these it could add up to significant savings overall. I think the RAM mounts are worth the premium, but you be the judge for your specific use cases.

Sturdy
This clamp appears to be of good material and latched on to my Ram and Tackform balls perfectly. I like that the cups are grooved which helps maintain a no movement grip on the balls. I will be looking for other length and types. The knob to open was a bit stiff and very close to the arm itself so I had a hard time turning it but this may be the size of my hands at play.

Very nice quality
I got this to use on my boat for my Garmin bottom machine. It is a little shorter than I expected but that is my fault. I saw the 2.48" and thought that was ball to ball and not overall length. The quality is very nice. It is all aluminum with a stainless spring and bolt. We will see how the anodizing holds up in saltwater and I will defintely be putting some tef-gel between the aluminum and stainless due to salt. The wing nut is nice and smooth and the clamp holds very tightly without having to tighten the wing nut super tight since this has texture to the ball area. The price on this brand doesn't look to be any cheaper than the RAM ones I have purchased before but they do seem to be of very nice quality aluminum instead if plastic. We will see how the marine use is for this one but I have no doubt that a bicycle or motorcycle this thing would hold up forever.

Versatile, well constructed double ball socket clamp
This is one of those devices that you didn't think you'd need until you do!The double ball construction allows you to mount two attachments to the same clamp greatly expanding the angles and positions to shoot your videos and photos. The clamp is made from an aluminum alloy and the tightening screw is solid and easy to turn. You can also use the clamp to mount to a pole or other round objects and then mount your camera on the additional side.Great little piece of gear for your kit bag.
