MadBite Ned Rig Jig Hook Kits, Finesse Mushroom Jig Heads for Soft Lures

Fish the northeast and use these primarily for bass but have caught trout, walleye, and pike. While not an expert with the NED rig I’m accustomed to using it.These are on par with other more popular brands of lead versions of this jig head(Z-man, etc). These are a viable alternative to more expensive versions of you plan to throw around cover that leads to break offs.Fished several days with these and caught several 3lb largemouth and smallmouth. I was initially concerned with the poor reviews of them.After fishing with these, and not to say there aren’t a few bad ones here are there, these are passable. I can see breaking hooks, loose jig heads, etc if you are power fishing. NEDs are finesse and I had no issues fishing on lighter line and using the drag on my spinning reel. If you are looking to power fish or muscle a Ned rig then gambler lures makes a larger, stronger jig head that can be fishing on heavy baitcaster or spinning tackle.These are a cost effective approach to a technique I occasional throw on tough days.

The hooks and heads are great quality and well worth buying, but the space between the head and the bait keeper bend is too short. It has a tendency to tear the plastics a little. I remedied this by super gluing the bait to the head or use Z-Man baits.

Update:I still stand by my original sentiment, but wanted to post another picture showing how brittle these hooks are. They all just snap instead of bending out when under a little pressure.First Use Impression:I caught 17 (mostly largemouth) all on one hook. It wasn't perfect, but I was catching just like I do with the expensive hooks. The wire hook became a tad loose in the lead molding after the first few fish, but it was still working. The hook finally gave out on me when I was using pliers to remove a deep hookset that I couldn't get free with just my fingers. Just a little twisting pressure with the pliers, and the hook snapped on me. I was shocked, as most hooks would maybe bend a little under the pressure used, but definitely not snap....this one did though.Pros:- sharp and relatively strong- slightly wider bite gap than other brandsCons:- wire hook can easily become a bit loose in the lead head- the little keeper hook doesn't work great with zman plastics- wire hook can snap easilyLet's be real, these aren't top end hooks, but you're also not praying a top end price. What they are is a great budget friendly ned hook that you can confidently catch fish with.

These jigs work fantastically! Love how my Ned rigs fit and with a spot of super glue my eleastec baits stayed on through 12 large mouths!

Product is made well although I personally do not like the hook bend and definitely not wide enough gap for my use.

These work really well. The hook is hard enough to land a big fish but will bend if you get snagged so you didn't lose the jig.

Bait holder is not very secure. Otherwise I like the jigs.

Hook gauge is to loo, easily bendable. Do not recomend.
