Much better than our old 1080 camera
As you can see night vision is clear and bright, our old camera from several years ago was much darker and it was hard to make things out.

Amcrest has sent me a dozen emails asking me to review their product so here goes...
I purchased two of these dome cameras ($60) on Feb. 28th 2018 along with a $120 Amcrest DVR, a $90 HD, $30 in cables and a $20 Amcrest power supply. About $300 total. This was to replace a $65 system that had it's DVR die after 6 months. On April 4th I woke up to a popup message saying "Camera 1 resolution has changed." or something to that effect. I go into the menu and on that camera the 1920x1080, 960x1080 & 1280x720 resolutions are gone as an option. The camera is on 960H (960x480) mode now and gives me 5 other choices of obscure resolutions (704x480, 352x480, 704x240, 352x240 & 176x120).I called in to technical support and the tech asked some questions and then ask for permission to access my laptop that isn't connected to my security system. I agreed. She downloaded a program and took remote control of my personal computer. I have no clue why they can't access the DVR itself since it has a direct internet connection.I know why it happened and how but it still felt pretty violating since I've never used my computer to access the security system. I won't let that happen again.Anyways...the tech told me I would have to climb out onto the 2nd story roof and swap the two cameras to see if it is the DVR or camera. I took my 50 year old butt up the ladder and across the rooftop and switched them. The bad camera at first showed 1080p again and then another popup and back to 960H.Was told to call back afterwards and I can send the camera back for a replacement. Didn't find out if I have to pay shipping but we'll see. In the meantime I am without a camera for the parking lot.Suppose I'll have to buy a spare camera for the next time this happens. But that kinda defeats the purpose of my purchase since I'll be paying more for the piecemeal approach I took and the cost of a whole system purchased together. Lesson learned.Saddest thing is that the $65 system I purchased had wonderful cameras (four of them) with better night-vision and were workhorses. This camera at $30 each lasted 34 days...

Quality, clear picture , long lasting and affordable
Been using this videocámaras for yearsThey are excellent ,long lasting, outside , dealing with the elements , and the picture quality never change , id just got more to improve to 8 !!I would recommend it as some of the best , for a lower price , without compromising long lasting and clear HD picture ,even with the long range clear night vision !!

Excellent value and quality
I install surveillance cameras professionally and with brands I’ve used in the past the failure rate right out of the boxed hovered around the 10% , with that said I was slightly sceptacle buying these cameras but figured for the price it was worth a shot. I purchased 16 to be hung in a bar and was pleasantly surprised to have all 16 fire up and work beautifully straight out of the box. Picture quality was comparable to any other brand camera I’ve used being excellent, my only complaint is that occasionally the IR’s do not shut off when going from night vision to color but this is rare and eventually does switch back. There may be sensitivity settings in the camera itself but I haven’t looked into that. For the value and quality I will definitely purchase Amcrest cameras again and look forward to trying verifocal cameras in the future.
