Works with any non-recessed or deep framed door opening inward. Good for keeping kids out of study
Because the device slips into the “edge bore” (hole in the frame which the bolt sides into) and is locked with a crossing hook that slides from the handle side out (see photo), there has to be some space on the frame side for the hook. If the frame sticks out too much or the door is recessed without a frame it will not work.It took a me few minutes to work it out first time I used it and it is a tight fit for the door I tried. The instructions on the back of the packet are so small I could not read them. I don’t think it would keep a strong violent man from breaking in, but it great for keeping the kids out of your study etc.

Simple to use, and partly useful?
I've researched all of the latest hotel door locks and this is my 3rd one. It is very simple and lightweight, and better for fire risks. The others have a small button or a time-consuming screw which might trap you in a fire. This would be simpler to undo in a fire, and fine against quiet intruders. But against an attacker rattling and shoving the door I think it might fall out.

A must have for children safety
Why did you choose this product over others?:Used this for travels and used as an extra lock on the hotel door.We had an. incident last year when meh daughter got up in the night and walked out of the hotel room in her nightwear and we found her in the hallway, lucky I was woken by the door closing. this lock gives use the piece of mind when we go to hotels that I don't have to barricade the door when staying with the kids now in hotel rooms.

Simple door lock, so happy!
I needed a lock on my bedroom door to stop family from barging in when I'm in the middle of working out/yoga, and couldn't be bothered getting a permanent lock fitted. I had previously bought a different one off amazon which was metal and had a red plastic handle, but unfortunately it didn't fit my door. My bedroom door has a roughly made hand-carved gap for the door handle so it's been hard to find something that would fit. This doorlock slots into the tiny gap and I can easily shut my door with it in. Then I slot in the curved handle part and the door doesn't open, not even a cm! Wish I'd found this sooner. I'm not sure how long it will last and how strong it is, given that its made of plastic and I've had it less than a day, but I think it's a really good product.

Absolutely abysmal.
I say again, absolutely abysmal. Doesn’t fit standard doors.

Re-claiming some privacy from the kids
This is an awesome gadget for parents with little kids. Finally I can temporarily lock them out of the study when I need to work (or take a phone call), or lock the bedroom when I get changed, or if I don't want them barging in at night.Ive deducted one star because the rubber connecting the 2 parts together snapped... This doesn't affect the lock though, and I've replaced it with some string. It's still a brilliant gadget and I'll be buying them for other new parents I know.
