Spot Spray Option
I did not want to spray this product across my entire lawn since the sledge grass was only in two areas. I calculated that there is .448 ounces of the active ingredient sulfentrazone in this 32 ounce container. There is .012 ounces of the active ingredient in the 24 ounce Ortho spot sprayer container. If you do the math, .85 ounces of the contents of the 32 ounce container is needed to produce 24 ounces of the spot sprayer. Consequently, you can produce 37 24 ounce portions to spot spray! Do not over spray the resulting product. You might have some yellowing of your grass (Zeon in my case) but it will be gone in a few days. It will kill much of the sedge. However, I would respray every 2 weeks. You can use a garden sprayer or even the 24 ounce spot spray bottle if you have one.

The best!
This is the best product for killing yellow nutsedge! I try not to use chemicals in my garden, but I don’t really believe you can get rid of nutsedge any other way. It just grows so quickly, and the more you pull it out, the more it spreads. Every summer, I try to beat it on my own and every summer I lose. Then I buy this product and nutsedge is gone for the rest of the season with only a few spots needing another treatment afterwards.Be careful not to overspray though. Soaking your grass with this product WILL damage or kill it. I learned this the hard way. Just spray and go, and do another quick pass if you used less than 6 Oz per 1000 sf.Absolutely a life saver!

It works! Be Careful with applications on newer sod.
This stuff is the truth. I had 8 week old St. Augustine sod being invaded by nut grass. This stuff did kill all the nutsedge in the lawn. My sod did get some brown damage as well but it came back after 2 weeks of growth. I’d say be careful with applying to sod that isn’t very well established. I may have jumped the gun on this but the nut grass was out of control.

took one day to turn nutedge brown
Definitely did something I spray it on Saturday and the next day the little buds on the nutedge disappeared and the base of it is lightly brown. Definitely is killing the weed. did not discolor or damage my grass at all. ws very east to apply hoping once I cut my grass in a few days it doesn't come back. so far ots okay on centipede grass

This works so well!
This stuff is AMAZING. I didn't want to mix weed killer in to my sprayer because I use a weed killer in it that would kill my grass. This premix hose attachment was perfect. I thought it would work but take a week or two to show signs of weighing. But within a day I started to see wilting. 4 days later all nutgrass is dead. My Bermuda grass is now the only thing living in my yard! I've attached two images with circles that show before and after.

I would be careful with this product
Fortunately, I only sprayed a small portion of my tall fescue lawn. A couple of days later, my green lawn was browning where I sprayed the product. Not trusting that the setting of water/ product mixture was accurate for my ready to spray bottle, I called Ortho to get a product to water ratio so I could just add it to my garden sprayer and spray myself. Amazingly, I was told the product was "already diluted" which makes no sense since it has to be used on the end of a garden hose. Not impressed with the company's helpdesk and not sure I trust the product enough to keep using. Will most likely return and go with a product that I can control with my own sprayer. If you use, test on a small area of your lawn first.

Wide Sprayer
I couldn't spray near the flowers because I was worried about damage. I initially chose a less expensive option, but since we have so many flowers and the spray pattern was wide, I felt it was safer to stay at least 3 to 4 feet away. After using about 25%, I decided to pour the rest into a container from another brand that offers a better spray, allowing for closer application to the flowers.

Absolutely Incredible Product
I am an avid gardener. I have never dealt with a weed called nutsedge. This year it was all over my yard ever where! I read that when you poison nutsedge it takes 2 to 3 weeks to see the results. Using this product the nutsedge started dying by the next day! Plus it kills about 50 other weeds. My yard never looked so good. I am extremely impressed with this Ortho product. It did NOT affect my centipede grass yard at all. BTW, pulling nutsedge up without getting all the roots will do no good, it will just come back. This product kills the roots completely!
