Review: Another winning story in the series! - It comes as no surprise to me that this was another winning tale for me. I love the entire series and was not disappointed. This entry kept my attention from the beginning with plenty of excitement, mystery, and a little romance. Clive Cussler and Boyd Morrison have created another fine tale. Highly recommended.
Review: Hi Kurt!! - I've been with the Oregon Files since book one so I've been through plenty of ups and downs to arrive here at The Emperor's Revenge, the eleventh entry into this highly entertaining series, and the second to feature co-author Boyd Morrison. This one is in my top two for the best of the Oregon Files. Its got a fast paced story, excellent villains and all the usual Cussler traits - high speed chases, gun fights, naval warfare and the chasing of ancient artifacts long thought lost. I won't go into details here but the bad guys have an Oregon style ship of their own and seeing Cabrillo and company outgunned for probably the first time in the series freshens things up nicely. There's also the loss of an Oregon crew member I didn't see coming, which although tragic, adds both some realism and the opportunity for fresh blood in the crew (there's really only been one new character added in 11 books now). There's also a fun little crossover scene as Juan runs into the NUMA files heroes Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala during a shootout. The meeting is a brief but welcome addition to the book and makes me want to catch up on my NUMA files reading (currently on book 8) to see how this all ties together. I'm hoping to see more intertwining stories between all the Cussler characters in the future. The only small negative thing I can say is the constant recapping at the beginning of these books is really tiresome. I understand why it's done, these are stand alones after all, but eleven books in its safe to assume the reader has some familiarity with the characters and setting. There's a good 20 pages here set aside for once again going over the Oregon's disguise. The dilapidated structure, the mismatching paint, the hidden weapons, the moon pool.... then there's the full recap of Juan, Linda, Max, and all the other notable characters' rank and background. I recognize that since this is my fourth Oregon book completed this month, its bugging me more then someone who reads these spread apart more, but its still frustrating to have to read the same information repeatedly. A great addition to the Oregon Files and I'm looking forward to more! Hope Boyd Morrison is staying with this series for a long time to come with this quality storytelling.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cabrillo and The Corporation to the rescue
*by W***C on June 21, 2016*

I always love a good Clive Cussler novel and the Oregon Files has proven to be a series of stories that are highly enjoyable. In this novel Juan Cabrillo and his friends are on the trail of a group (or is it just one person) who have written some software that is poised to wipe out the financial markets of Europe and plunge the world into economic crisis. The problem with what happened is that the protagonist did not think this clearly through in that their first act was to steal most of the funds of the Corporation in their first heist. Steal the operational and financial security of The Corporation and you will face their wrath. Not to mention that their moral values will drive them to solve this case to help save the finances of millions of people. With Military scenarios, financial crisis situations, economic collapse and computer technology all rolled into one novel you find yourself on a thrill paced novel that will keep you reading and wanting to know how things will end. Enjoy!
