CCNA Routing and Switching ICND2 200-101 Official Cert Guide

I remember buying these books 7 or 8 years ago. Well here we are in 2020 and they are still the first thing I refer anyone that is new to the world of networking to.The syllabus has changed since the version of these books I had, however the content is superb. Every subject is explained in great detail, all key points highlighted, plenty of real examples given.I would recommend these to anyone. Even once seasoned networking professionals that need a quick refresh. When you combine these books with video content from the likes of CBT Nuggets, you have all the material you need to get started in the world of networking.

Good book that helped me pass the exam. Read through it 3 times. First time to get a good idea of the overall concepts. 2nd time to get more indepth. Third time to make notes for revision before the exam. Found it a 'good and easy read' (if there is such a thing with 600 pages). Got me through the CCNA with ease and helped lay confidence in doing the CCNP (doing route now). Reading this, watching the various Youtube videos (or better traignsignal) and using simulation like packet tracer or hardware is all you will need for the exam.

Well written Book, be sure to download the addendums as there are large chunks of the current syllabus missing from the book, as I found out when I failed the exam.

Great reference books to study with whilst i'm doing a computer networking course online. Will really help eventually towards the CCENT and CCNA exams. Very heavy going in parts, but eventually these books will get you through. I don't need to say anymore about this as enough people online say great things about both books (Cisco CCENT / CCNA / ICND1 100 - 101 & ICND2 200 - 101) already.Just to let you know, that it's cheaper to purchase these books through Amazon instead of buying through Cisco direct.

Well written - articulate with all ideasLots of exam test questions, labs, videos and online resourcesDoes well in preparing you for the exam however if you intend to study and pass the exami also recommend the CBT nuggets and Cisco Packet tracker AND physical second hand kitThe exam does test you on configuration commands - troubleshooting in a lab session and mutlple choice questions on all concepts.

Great book, its the only resource I used to study and pass the exam. The book is written excellently and is easy to follow and understand. Make sure you download the updates for the book from Cisco press as the exam has been updated with new topics since the book was published.

Very soon to be out of date. New version of CCNA has been announced, exams 200-101 and 100-101 are being retired by the end of September 2016.

This works in tandem with my college course for my CCNA this is part 2 of my book and I'm sure it will be as helpful as the first book.

Even though Cisco is revising their test. . . . .This is actually one of the best Cisco prep books to buy especially if you can get a price discount. . . . this version has an excellent and very thorough Cisco Lab simulator included (the very same labs that you will be charged additionally for in later editions) I own both the 200-101 and the 200-105 and not seeing a whole lot of difference. Wendell Odom textbooks covers the materials very thoroughly and if used with the target exam objectives on the Cisco website the extensive labs in the 200-101 passing the test was easier (the test is not easy but you will feel well prepared for the rigors of the exam). Of course the newer editions provide a lighter version of the same labs (approx. 75% fewer lab simulators) but they do allow you the option of paying for additional lab sims most are the same simulator labs that were provided in the earlier editions as no additional cost. . . .in comparison to Todd Lammle's text (which is another great CCNA learning manual) that provides access to CBT (micro) Nuggets (audio-visual training by Jeremy Cioara) to help explain the tricks to understanding and grasping difficult Cisco concepts without spending endless hours on youtube. So, if I had to recommend a CCNA prep book I would select Wendell's because of the strength of the simulator labs. Even though I purchased the hardware and own 3 cisco routers, 2 switches, and a wireless router, I found the simulator labs to be more helpful and test oriented. . . . . . the hands on is critical to understanding Cisco
