but surprisingly easy. Finish as sold is plain preserved wood
Relatively straight forward to assemble - does take more than an hour, but surprisingly easy. Finish as sold is plain preserved wood, which has a bit of a greenish tinge, so does benefit from staining. Best to do this before assembly.Have set up on a slightly sloping paved area. Seems fine without anchoring to the paving - just need to adjust the doors slightly when fitting to account for the slope (not an issue if your paving is horizontal)Only slight niggle is that the chains for attaching the wheelie bin lid to the top lid were not present - there were two very small chains to attach to the back of the lid to stop it falling back on the hinge.

very disappointed with this item.
very shoddily made and i cant get one of the doors to fit without cutting down width.i would have expected a much better finish to this product for the price paid.i would advise look elsewhere.

Get rid of those eye-sores
Having looked at various options I finally decided on this one. Having spent a considerable sum on kitchen and back garden having dustbins on display was just a no-no. This store is robust , sturdy and well made. A couple of hours work with a drill and screwdriver (suggest electric) and it was all done. It looks the part and just looks right, no more ugly dustbins on show. Easy to use every day. Well worth the money, even next door neighbour envious.

super service I thought
Double 240L wheelie bin wooden store storage. The Garden Village ( the Makers and suppliers of the bins housing) telephoned, to let me know that the delivery date given to me by Amazon was not quite correct, would I mind waiting a few days more as the items were not yet built,we agreed on a delivery date and they were spot on, super service I thought, as I was due to go on holiday the day after. It took a couple of days to assemble them, (ordered two) and received a lot of comments from my neighbours as to the nicely built units sitting outside the front of my house, The cold weather made the assembly work a little longer as I needed to keep going indoors to warm up my freezing fingers, decided to screw the two units together for extra strength and rigidity without the need to bolt them to the ground. Unfortunately during the early January 2018 the gales force winds caused the lids to be blown off ( even though the lids are quite heavy ) tearing them at the hinges ( may need 4 new lids not sure yet if salvegeble ) as there is no catches provided at the front to secure the lids to the body of the units ( to stop them from being blown off ) this could be a feed back lesson for the manufacturers to maybe provide some locking device to stop the lids flying off in heavy winds. I have had to weigh down the loose lids with half a dozen bricks temporarily until I will be able to purchase some sort of fasteners to secure them for future use. Maybe the manufacturers will get in touch with me if and when they read this re-view to verify their future corrected modification to this item. Would have given these bin housing 5 star, for looks and build and delivery but the lack of bin lids security ( high lighted by the winds and weather, causing me extra work and expenditure) I can only give 3 stars.ReagrdsFrank

A total waste of money
The facts:a) It comes in sections on a pallet. This was so heavy that the courier had to unpack it on his van. This negates the Qubox returns policy which states that they will give a refund as long as it is returned in the ‘original undamaged packaging’. In other words, you cannot get a refund.b) It has a number of design flaws. The hinges for the lids are too large for the wood they are supposed to fix to. Some of the screws provided are too long so the pointed part protrudes through the wood.c) Qubox will supply a floor if requested (an additional £79) but if this is not selected then the side walls and base have to be screwed to the ground to make the whole thing stable. Brackets are provided for this but I am not prepared to drill into my patio so I have to put up with flexing which means that the doors and lids do not fit properly – and they never will.d) The lids are very heavy. I complained about this to Qubox (and the manufacturers – The Garden Village) and was told that they will get lighter as they dry out. We will see.e) One of the lids that I received had been improperly constructed with a consequent split in the wood. I contacted Qubox about this (with photos) and they say that they will send a replacement. They claim that it must have been damaged ‘in transit’ but this seems impossible to me!And my opinion:The whole construction is shoddily and poorly manufactured. It is hugely overpriced. I would never have bought it if I had seen it first but the Qubox returns policy means that I am stuck with it.

Looks good
Looks good and hides those unsightly bins. Must be fixed to a base to make it sturdy

Not a load of Rubbish.
Very strong wood and once assembled looks very professional. My only complaint however, the price! As it's home assembly, [which I didn't mind doing] seemed rather high! More associated for ready-made.
