Iv brought this a few times. Good quality, fair price. Puffs up nicely, making a cosy thick bed for my pigs during the cold months. Will for sure buy again. Its also safe for them to eat although I wouldn't (and don't) buy it for that purpose. 10/10.

Bought to use on my strawberry bed, it arrived quickly and seems decent quality.

Late last spring (2023) i made a new wildlife pond in my front garden. After a month or so the dreaded algae started to bloom and both filamentous and free floating algae began to take over the pond. This is common with new ponds so I bought this bale of barley straw to use as a natural control for the algae. It's now 31 March 2024 and the algae is under control which is allowing the pond plants to get some sunlight and begin to grow well. I didn't need to use much of the straw, I just stuffed a few handfuls into a drawstring net bag that measures about 30cm x 25cm and dropped it into the pond. I still have most of the bale left so it will last me a good few years lol. Once it is in the pond water, barley straw slowly starts to decompose and as this happens it releases tiny amounts of hydrogen-peroxide (H2O2) into the pond water which stunts the growth of algae giving other plants in the pond and margins a chance to grow and begin to balance the pond water chemistry. It doesn't happen overnight, it can take a few months before you start to see the effects but as a totally natural algae control it's worth the wait. Simply add some fresh barley straw to the bag as and when needed.

I bought this to fill in my new hedgehog 🦔 house 🏠, filled it to the brim , all ready for my hog fingers crossed it’s a big hitStraw is much preferred to hay as the straw keeps dry and doesn’t hold water so the straw will keep the hog dry and warm unlike like hay will stay wet and if it’s below freezing the hog will freeze 🥶 in the house as the hay stays wet !! Thank you for such a brilliant product

I did not read the size of bale so was disappointed with how small it was

tres grande quantité, j'en ai pour au moins 5 ans pour mon bassin à Koi et comet, fait la job apres seulement 2 semaines a completement clarifier mon eau des algues vertes , syer sur d'acheter qu'avec cette sorte de céréale et pas de mélange, elle est tres propre et pas de poussiere
