Yale Y121/40/125/1 Closed Shackle Brass Padlock, 40mm, pack of 1, suitable for gates and sheds

Great padlocks from a well established company.I bought two of these a couple of months apart in 2018 from Amazon. I was impressed with the first I'd bought for my shed, so bought the second for my garden gate. Both priced at £8.31.Nearly 3 years later, no problems.Just make sure you put a few drops of oil in the necessary places.

I needed a new padlock for one of the garden sheds as the old padlock was rusted and very difficult to unlock. In most situations, I like to support unbranded products but in this case I wanted a brand I could trust.It arrived promptly from Amazon and it's encased in plastic vacuum packaging. Unfortunately, it's the type of packaging you have to cut which is most annoying. I guess this is more of a security decision because otherwise the keys could be copied. By the way, you get three keys with this padlock.It's manufactured by Yale, a company that's been around since time immemorial. It's a solidly built padlock and quite heavy in weight. Although all padlocks can be cut using large bolt cutters, this one should offer quite a challenge to any would be thief. The extra outer casing will make this job as difficult as possible.Overall. I am very pleased with the quality and finish of this padlock and it's competitively priced.

I never seen where it said that this padlock is 20% or there about's plastic, It may not actually affect the lock but the black outer casing is plastic with a brass body underneath, so in-actual fact this lock is a much small lock than advertised as removed the plastic casing just by sliding it upward with a small pressure and what is left is a much smaller brass lock, while i purchased this lock visually by the picture, If I had it in my hand at the time of purchase i would have left it there. As I said " I never seen where this said it had an outer casing of plastic" and that is my own mistake.

So far so good. Bought this to replace Masterlock on my garage door which seized up and cost me an expensive locksmith call out. This one looks sturdy, but is as exposed to the same elements as the previous padlock it replaces. Fingers crossed.

After just over a year this lock stopped working. The key would turn but would not operate the lock.The plastic sleeve became loose at some point and would slide up and down the lock.I am surprised at this because it was on a shed door mere inches away from another Yale padlock which has not had a fault in its 20 year use.

this lock is nice and study and heavy. Definitely felt secure leaving it on my storage unit.

Quick delivery, came with 2 keys, easy to lock/ unlock. The yellow yale logo fell off after 3weeks but the lock its self still works
