12 Inch Shelf Bracket Heavy Duty L Shelf Bracket 12 x 8 Inch Metal Shelf Bracket with Hardware, Black, 4 Pack

Have purchased and used several of these brackets around our household, mostly in our garage. We have a bulkhead though the middle of our home around the duct work from the HVAC system. The brackets were perfect for creating additional storage on both sides of this bulkhead approximately 16" below the ceiling. Perfect place to store materials like paint, trim work, pipes, and more. There were also helpful in building additional shelving in our garage, utilizing empty wall space to organize workshop supplies neatly. For the garage I utilized 3/4" plywood and 1 1/2" pine, all painted with Rust-Oleum Gloss Black enamel paint, although these brackets were used to create nice display shelves throughout our home where butcherblock hardwood was stained black for a nice professional look. The brackets are of great quality and can be installed either direction depending on your needs, providing much strength if mounted properly to your wall. I always overkill on fasteners, don't be afraid to the same!

They are exactly what I was looking for, at a fair price.

I used these four brackets and a wood shelf from Lowes to mount these old school JVC floor speakers. I just needed to get them off the floor to save space in a crowded office space. They are screwed into wall studs, and the brackets have holes to screw the shelf into the brackets. All necessary screws are included in the box. These speakers are somewhere between 30 and 40 pounds a piece and these brackets don't sag at all. Good purchase.

Brackets are very heavy-duty indeed and well-packaged. They met my expectations completely. Only four stars because the screws they provide are pretty worthless unless you're screwing directly into solid wood and don't expect to put much weight on the shelf supported by these brackets. Makes no sense for a heavy duty bracket to be supported by lightweight screws. They are only 1 1/2 in. long and quite thin. With 1/8 in thick bracket and 1/2 in drywall, that leaves less than an inch going into soft pine wall studs. Fortunately, the holes in the brackets can accommodate much larger screws or lag bolts. I bought 1/4 in. x 2 in. black lag bolts and washers that fit nicely in the holes with coarse threads and over 1 1/4 inch going into the stud after going through the bracket and drywall.

These have too much flex. They really are not stiff enough and bend way more than expected. Had to add additional brackets to support the shelf.

If I could give this product zero stars, I absolutely would. These brackets are ridiculously weak—two of them couldn't even support a 12" x 48" half-inch piece of plywood with just 30 pounds of weight on it. They bent so badly that I had to install additional support braces to keep everything from sliding off. On top of that, the screws were atrociously cheap. Every single screw head snapped off while I was drilling them in—even though I had carefully pre-drilled the holes. There's absolutely no excuse for such poor quality. Save yourself the frustration and avoid this product at all costs.
