fantastic product - I am delighted with it
this is fantastic,Over the past 18 months I have spent in excess of £250 on 4 x second hand DVD Recorders. I mainly record boxing events as I'm an avid fan of the sport. I record the odd tv series from time to time too. My main use for this is the boxing though. I'm a sad git who has a massive fight archive from the past to present day (mostly on DVD's).Anyways, the DIGITNOW! device is fantastic, it's very easy to use just plug it in, hit record to start a recording, hit record again to stop recording, and that's about the jist of it. The file transfer is also fairly simple just plug into your PC via the lead provided. it automatically reads as if it is an external usb pen drive) find the AVI files via the folders then copy or move to PC - piece of cake. You can get a converter program for FREE on the net to transfer you're AVI recordings into different filetypes. Overall, it works really well. Only thing that would improve it was if it was able to record to MP4 directly rather than AVI but there are ways around this as stated before.I'm able to record off a multitude of devices, set top boxes, X-Box 360, old VCR's etc... (it works with almost anything that has Composite (RED WHITE YELLOW) Out connections. Works a treat with my Sky+HD.The quality of the picture is limited to SD and it records all files in 4:3 ratio but again you can find converter programs on the net for FREE to make any adjustments. In summary, this does the same job as all of those second hand DVD recorders and doesn't take up as much space. It's portable meaning you can easily switch between devices in different rooms, It comes with a 4GB MicroSD card giving you 4 hours of recording - although like many other people I bought a bigger card and now have 17.5 hours worth of recording which is more than enough for what I need.5 out of 5 - does exactly as it says - there's also help and support should you need it from the seller. They sent me a very nice email checking I am happy with the product. I am delighted with it actually this will last longer than the second hand DVD recorders ever will. I've basically paid £89.99 for a brand new recorder - instead of forking out £45 on a second hand DVD Recorder and then £50 on another DVD recorder two months later followed by something like £35 three months later for another DVD Recorder.I've had lots of DVD Recorders this machine will stop that trend.

Rubbish
Initially the product worked well but after 4 minutes of recording the screen froze, and the device became unresponsive. After a quick reset it would claim the memory card was full and wouldn’t record. Tried a clean card with no luck. Same response. Tried to read the initial card in a pc and it wouldn’t recognise it was there. Wouldn’t waste your money.

Simple and reliable TV or video recorder
This is a simple to easy to use device for quick recording from your TV or video record / HD drive. It does not require a computer. It records through a scart or composite connecting cables, so make sure your TV has the suitable connections.. It records in a 4:3 screen ratio and saves to an AVI file format. If you want the recording to be viewed on 16:9 screen ratio, or saved to a different file format, you will have convert it using a computer video editing software. I have been using the device for a for more than a month and it seems reliable, has a good battery life and quick charging time. If you want a quick and simple TV recording device without the hassle of using a computer this does the job. I would give it five stars if it would record to 16:9 screen ratio and offer the choice of saving to an alternative file format.

Exceeded expectations. I used this to transfer VHS footage to my Macbook. The footage transferred smoothly to the VideoGrabber and then connecting it to the Macbook was easy, it recognised the device straight away and the footage was transferred (drag and drop) as .AVI files. Some tips for potential purchasers:1. I have 3 VHS Recorders in my house, and none of them had Red, White and Yellow RCA outputs - they were all SCART output only. There is no SCART adapter included in this kit (just the Red, White and Yellow RCA leads) - so if your video player only has SCART then simply buy a good quality SCART to RCA Adapter. I tried with a cheap one I had in the house at first and it didn't work. So I paid about £5 for a BELKIN one - delivered the next day, and this one worked perfectly.2. If you are using Final Cut Pro X to edit your footage... my version wouldn't open the .AVI files that were created by the Video Grabber. A workaround for this is easy - simply download a FREE app from the App Store that will convert .AVI to .MOV and your files will work perfectly.None of the above two points were a problem, I am sharing this in order to be helpful and make sure that you are prepared in advance if you are using a VHS player that only has SCART output, and also if you are using a Mac to edit your footage. The best part about this device is that you can watch the footage 'live' on the Video Grabber's screen whilst it transfers. This means you don't need a TV to connect to, and you don't need to clog up your Mac or PC whilst you transfer the footage to it like with other devices. You can also put a date stamp on your footage if you want to - although I turned this option off in the menu.Much better in my opinion than what I did previously - which was to either use a grabber that went straight into the Mac, but slowed the machine down whilst transferring - or I also used to burn the VHS direct to DVD and then rip the footage from the DVD to the Mac, all of which are much more time consuming, and costly in terms of using blank DVDs.It's a good idea to transfer your VHS footage of family memories etc sooner rather than later because the VHS tapes degrade over time and become more prone to tearing in the machine. Once you have stored then digitally you can keep them on a hard drive or in the Cloud to view and keep safe.
