Can I put this in the oven? I do not have a microwave.

These items usually carry a warning not to use any heat source other than a microwave. The extended period needed to heat the bag and contents in an oven cannot be good for either. There are warnings about the possibility of fire if item is left too long in a microwave

What is the smell like?

It initially smelt of lavender but wore off quickly. Now it smells of wheat.

No it states: Fo not apply any oils to this product and do not wash or dry clean. Wipe the surface of the heat pack with a damp sponge and allow to fully dry before use.

Could this be hand washed? Thanks.

No it can’t. Just checked the instructions & it says that no washing or dry cleaning can be done with this product.
