I was a little weary at first to wander from the standard keyboard layout...But I was not disappointed. I quickly got use to the layout, and the topre key switches make this keyboard a DREAM to type on.10/10

The keyboard is perfect. you just need to get used to the layout, which is not easy to get used to if you are using it in mac os for daily use only.

This is by far the best keyboard I have ever owned. The topre switches are a pleasure to type on and the PFU key caps are extremely high quality and always feel smooth to the touch even after hours of typing.While the layout is a bit non-standard, it is extremely efficient and takes surprisingly little time to become accustomed to for touch typists. The control key is in the perfect location, especially if your a linux / vim / emacs user. Having the escape keys and delete keys easily accessible from the home row is also an extremely nice quality of life improvement. The function layer is extremely well thought out and after a few days using the arrow key cluster or using the F1-12 keys will become very natural.The keyboard is very light and compact, and I transport it to and from work easily in my backpack every day. I personally recommend the blank keys as the board looks very nice without print, while I was a little hesitant at first I quickly felt extremely comfortable with the blank key caps after a couple days. If you work at a computer all day and are considering buying this keyboard, do yourself a favor and just purchase it now. You will not regret it.

impressive，expensive but worth it

This is an awesome keyboard.The Topre keyswitches are very unique and give the best typing experience in my opinion. The sound they produce when typing beats all the Cherry MX keyswitches, but this may be a personal preference. Check the typing videos on Youtube to be sure whether you like it or not. The keys of the HHKB are very smooth and do not feel like you hit a piece of metal when you bottom out, which is the case in the Cherry browns. I also love the form factor and the removed caps lock, which saves unnecessary space and makes the keyboard look better.The only reason I'm not giving this product 5 stars is due to its build quality and the lack of features it offers for the price.For a $220 keyboard, you would expect something sturdier and more solid, but the casing of the HHKB has more of a plasticy feel.Some of the keys are not straight, they are slightly rotated on the y-axis. If you are obsessed with the symmetry, this may be annoying. I've read that this issue was fixed on the Type-S model.The USB ports on the back can be used for almost nothing due to their low power output. I wasn't able to use my USB 3.0 flash stick when I connected it.And lastly, the inflexible layout. This may depend on your preference, but I prefer to have a fully programmable layout, which is not too much to expect from a product at this price range.While this keyboard has slight flaws and cons, I still do not regret buying it and would recommend getting one if the feeling and sound of the keys is your first priority.
