We bought this because our boy started struggling eith being home alone for too long. He was also scarred of new environments, walks become unenjoyable, reactive to things he was ok weeks earlier. Bear in mind he is not neutered yet so some of this behaviour was put down to it. I did buy and didn't think too much. He was still his hyper self, however barking stopped. He no longer was reacting to people just walking past the house. Initially I didn't realise that this worked. We have been 2 weeks without colour and the anxious behaviour has returned. Safe to say I bought another one. This will not make your dog docile, if this is what you are looking for. This will, however, make them feel less anxious. I do think if your dog's anxiety is severe, you should go to vet instead of buying this.

Held off on leaving this review for a few days, just to be sure it wasnt a case of beginners luck. We've definitely seen a difference. Our boisterous 12 month old male lab is defintely more relaxed and less reactive in the home in the last few days. Still has his moments, but theres certainly a corelation between wearing the Adaptil collar and a calming of behaviour. Quality is okay, it's basically a rubber collar which you trim to size you change every month. Will be ordering again for sure.

Context: I have a slightly reactive English Setter who suffers with redirected aggression. I have worked really hard with him on dialling this reaction down but some days are harder than others so I thought I’d try this collar to see if it was a good long-term balancer. Opening: When I first opened this my dog was immediately enchanted by it! Sniffing it all over and wagging his tail, although I couldn’t smell anything at all he clearly could so that confirmed at least that he could smell the scent. Use/Performance: During the first week-10 days this made a noticeable difference. He was a lot calmer during the first few days of wear & I had high hopes. Unfortunately the effect only seemed to last a week, maybe 10 days before he reverted back to normal. Does it work? Yes. Does it work for as long as stated? In my opinion, no. I can see this being good as an additional measure for a holiday or a vet visit but as a long-term thing this is simply too expensive to replace every week or two so I will stick with the spray for difficult days as it’s far more economical. If the scent lasted longer, even at a slightly higher price, I’d probably continue purchasing this.

I was skeptical about this but I have been pleasantly surprised. It has generally helped with calmness and easiness to settle however it cannot be relied solely upon for extreme anxiety for example from fireworks. This is just our experience. I will continue to use and would recommend for an overall calming experience

We have had a lot of building work going on outside our property and our dog is old and very reactive to people moving around outside so we thought that this may calm her a little. Let me emphasise that we were at home with her and all of our efforts to keep her from getting upset up to this point were futile. We were hoping that this collar might just give off the right scent to calm her down. It had absolutely no effect whatsoever! We left it on her for the whole month or so that it was supposed to be effective and noticed no change in her behaviour at all! Having said that there are a lot of reviews that claim success, maybe our dog just didn’t react to the magic! It was a bit of a waste of money and I ended up shut in an upstairs bedroom with her, with the curtains closed to reduce her stress! Maybe I should have worn the collar instead!!

The Adaptil collar is a one-size-fits-all collar that lasts for a long time, offering great calming protection. We also keep the plugins going around times when fireworks and thunderstorms are likely. Our Greyhound was terrified of loud noises, and the Adaptil Plugin gives 30 days of relief and a great calming effect without creating a noticeable smell for humans. They are very easy to use as you just fit them into a conventional 3-pin plug and allow them to work until the unit needs a refill. They just look like an ordinary air freshener in the socket. We position ours near the dog's be,d which gives him maximum relief.
