Julian Bowen Set Of 2 Canterbury Chairs

Received next day delivery, fantastic, lovely strong chairs not too heavy to move but heavy enough not to be flimsy. the cushions are black leatheror faux leather, not sure which, and they are very comfortable to sit on. We are really pleased with these chairs and they match perfectly with our existing table.

I had previously purchased the matching table, and with good reason gave a scathing review, but so desperately needed matching chairs and unable to source them elsewhere, I eventually ignored my misgivings and ordered a pair from the same supplier.My misgivings seemed totally justified when I saw the state of the box the chair parts came in; a box so bruised and battered it had obviously been opened and resealed many many times and suffered much during its transportation. With a heavy heart I unpacked the parts, expecting, like the table, scratches, fractures and worse, but to my surprise and delight every single part was immaculate and obviously of good quality and reasonably manufactured - and individually well packed, thankfully!Everything was present and correct and assembly proceeded without major issues. The instructions were adequate and on completion I was pleased. The chairs are comfortable, the back support especially pleasing as the contours fitted my back superbly. The seat padding is good, not luxurious, but good and comfortable. I am no lightweight, and the chairs easily take my weight.So a good purchase; good quality furniture at a reasonable price. Its obvious the original manufacture is of fair to good quality furniture, but the general management, storage, handling and transportation is not. I suspect its very much pot luck if the furniture one orders is going to arrive in the state it was initially manufactured, and turning for help to the sellers is a futile exercise.In my case, with the chairs if not the table, I am well pleased with the purchase, and to be fair, even the table (now I've repaired it!) looks well and together, both table and chairs are lovely.

Chairs were just what I needed but also easy to fit and matched my furniture

I ordered four chairs from Julian Bowen and was really disappointed to find out on closer inspection, that all four chairs were damaged. The first two were chipped on the shoulder. The varnished was scratched on the second two.I actually liked the chairs, for the price they were really good.I spoke to the amazon customer service, who were really helpful and ordered another four, thinking that the first batch was defective and the others would be good. When I received the second batch, they still had the same defects.

The chairs were easy to assemble. But a little disappointed by how difficult it was to achieve a firm connection of the seat to the chair base. (The screws failed to grip properly)

These chairs are very nicely made. They are easy to assemble, and you end up with a good, sturdy chair.I had a small problem with delivery, which Amazon sorted out for me. Clearly this was not the fault of the chairs.Fully recommended.

Chairs are good/ solid and value for money. But the time I was waiting for them didnt correspondent with information when I purchased it.

These were straightforward to fit together using the instructions provided. I like the brown colour of the seats but the wood itself is lighter than the other mahogany furniture I have. Still next to the dining table they provide a contrast that still tones in so I'm happy. They are comfy to sit on & provide the back support I need.
