My Felco nº2 secateurs fit and live in it permanently and it feels very natural to use when I'm gardening both at home or at work. It should be a snug fit so they don't fall out and the leather will ease very slightly over time to mold to you secateurs. You can clip it on your belt or use the slots to thread a belt through it. I always use the clip. The belt clip was too tight at first but I eased it slightly with the aid of a couple of big screwdrivers to open it up a bit and now it's perfect. You could just permanently thread it onto a leather belt and wear that over your clothing and many of my colleagues do that and have other holsters and tools attached to the same belt as well. They last donkeys years in continuous everyday use, built for purpose which is holding Felco No.2 secateurs, and maybe others but I can't speak for that. In that time we have managed to wear out one holster (and loose maybe a couple more) so for most of us these are products for life. They are stiff when new because they are thick durable leather. The spring that holds them onto your belt/trousers is also stiff, for security. They adapt to the shape of the secateur over time and ALWAYS hold the secateurs in place. You will need to open the secateur safety catch and tighten it open, or just remove it; the spring on the secateurs is what holds the secateurs in the holster, and when they are removed they are ready for use without fiddling about with the catch. In my opinion these are essential for a maintenance gardener. A little pricey but worth it. *by M***D on 8 May 2017* The leather on this holster is very thick and stiff. In fact, when new, it’s a little tricky to get the secateurs in because the leather doesn’t want to give. However, with just a little use, the holster moulds itself to the secateurs and gives a tight hold, but with no difficulty either inserting or removing the tool. I’ve had this in regular use for around 4 months now and I’ve never had the secateurs fall out. It comes with two attachment features – the belt slots visible in the product image, and a belt clip. This also is very stiff, but with a bit of use it became easier to clip over the pocket of my jeans where it holds on tight. This holster is incredibly well made. I don’t anticipate ever needing to buy a replacement, and it fits my Felco secateurs perfectly.
