The base of the box is much thinner than the rest of the box so I fear it might not be up to bearing much weight. The carry handles aren't finished very well - I managed to get a splinter as I unwrapped the box. The hinges are also very small and flimsy so I will be replacing them. I will also have to sand the handle holes before I can think about decoration. I'm sure it will be lovely when it's decorated but given the price - I expected better.

This is exactly as described. It is a decent-sized wooden box. It is unfinished wood and so really does need painting, varnishing or waxing (which I have done) and with wax it comes up nicely. How durable the hinges will be, I don't know and only time will tell but they seem OK and are not loose.

Really well made and sturdy. Look lovely with a nice coat of oil.

Not exactly the size I wanted but it is a good box & useful

Meets my requirements for size, hinged lid, hand-holes for carrying, and a plain (no decoration) finish. It would take a coat of varnish but I much prefer it as smooth (fine sanded) plain wood. I use it to hold all my shoe shine clutter. It isn't a heavy duty box, so I wouldn't want to jump on it, but it is more than strong enough for the job. One or two knots are visible on the outside, but (for me) that adds to its honest looks.

I used this box to hold a photo album and keepsakes for my daughter.The album was quite large so I needed this size to hold everything.It is nicely put together and finished but the wood is quite thin.I have stapled fabric to the top and even the smallest staples came through,breaking the wood.

Nice box. No assembly but totally inadequate hinges, lets the box down. Had to buy new hinges.
