Great strings !
I tried many expensive strings on my Barcus berry pickup violectra , this one by far give beatiful rich sound with the pickup. I was going to give up on using the pickup but these strings got my hope back. Highly recommend and excellent value if compared with the other expensive strings double the price ...

These made my cheap violin sing again
Bought them as replacement for old Dominant. I am amazed by how different my violin sounds now. I bought these because they were recommended for amplified instruments and I wanted to experiment with my acoustic violin with pickup in the bridge. I must say that they sound great without amplification too. Much quicker response time, a lot of clarity and volume. They are not very warm but I like a sharper sound for playing jazz. I think I will stick to D'Addario in the future!

Helicore Striings
I use these on my gigging violin which has a pick up fitted. They are very responsive and give a bright but warm tone. I also use Dominant and Pirastro Tonica strings but these are great, particularly for bluegrass and folk styles but also for classical. If ou have a slightly dull or quiet violin these would probably be ideal.

Came Highly Recommended for Fiddle Music
Replaced my Dominant strings with these Helicore Medium Tension strings as I started to play more fiddle music vs classical. They came highly recommended from fiddlers across the web, from research and asking on Insta. I am very happy with them, the sound and tone they produce. The only string I'm not entirely happy with is the G string as I now find it to dull, so think I will replace this. Overall they have greatly improved the sound for fiddle tunes though so I can highly recommend them. If you want to see hem being played, you can on my insta @melaviolingirl.

Good fiddle string.
The string of choice for fiddle music. But I find the A string unwinds after a few months.

Stringing me along!
Fitted these strings as soon as I received them which was very promptly. They settled in tuning wise very quickly within a week and am now in the process of playing in them in. At the moment they sound rather brighter and a louder sound overall than my older set of strings but time will tell after they are played in.

Beautiful Sound
These Helicores are installed on an intermediate Eastman VL305 violin, which is known for their warmer tones. The violin came with Pirastro Tonica strings that sounded really well with the VL305. I still remember the first time my son played on that violin with the stock strings. It really sounded great compared to his old beginner level violin that sounded unnecessarily bright and harsh. Little did we know that you have to replace the strings periodically even if they don't break. His high school teacher probably mentioned that, but we just either forgot or ignored it. After a while, the violin lost it's nice beautiful sound and I thought my son is just regressing a bit. I read some reviews that mentioned that the Helicores tend to be on the brighter side. That was my main concern because I don't want to turn the sound of his violin into a beginner level one. Although, with the older strings, it started to sound like it. Helicores to the rescue. Once installed, his violin started playing like it did when it was new. New strings,, specially the proper ones, restore the natural sound of the violin. They weren't as bright as some reviewers mentioned. If anything, they can project more than the old strings. The E string sounds really good, specially at the higher notes. The rest just has that professional sounding tone to them. We're no pros, but we have very good ears and can easily detect the differences in sound quality. Along with his new carbon fiber Forever bow with synthetic hair from FiddlerMan also bought from Amazon, the sound is definitely better than before, even when the stock strings were new. In short, they were easy to install and tune. Break in is fairly quick. Looks stunning on the violin. Very easy to use/play. Overall functionality is better than expected. Highly recommended.

Good value
I am not a professional musician, so my evaluation is for an amateur player like myself. This is the second batch of strings that I have purchased and I'm still impressed by the quality. I mostly play jigs, reels, hornpipes and bluegrass-I mix in some jazz music as well as some classical pieces. The strings have a good thickness that allow me to transition to double stops with relative ease and they break in quickly. I check the tuning every time I play, and I rarely have to adjust. They have a good tonal value, although I found the G string a little raspy on my new set when compared to my previous string. The difference is subtle, and I'm thinking it is more likely due to my bow, which definitely needs to be replaced. My music is eclectic, my violin and bow is not high end, and these strings bring out the best sound for what I have, so I am more than pleased. I'll buy them again when this set wears out.
