ASUSPCE-AC68 Dual Band Wireless PCI Express Network Interface Card

Up until buying this I had the pleasure of using a direct Ethernet connection to my PC. Problem was it meant running a wire all the way through the building, something that was inconvenient and messy. After a while I decided to get rid of it and explore other options.I have always been sceptical of Wi-Fi cards, but this one has surprised me. I have never lost connection to my router downstairs, something that is quite impressive if you consider I live in a block of flats with solid thick walls and interference everywhere. What's more impressive is my speeds are still pretty good.It is, however, worth nothing that the price is a tad excessive in my opinion for what you get. But saying that, it's worth the price: Installation is easy and quick, the software works and the product does it's job.If you are in need of a powerful Wi-Fi card, this will not dissapoint!

Great quality. Moved house and the phone socket is not near where I put the pc so I had to switch to wifi rather than running cables. This has done the job perfectly. No increase in ping times vs using ethernet, no issue with signal strength, no issue with reliability, no issue with speeds, no issues with packet loss. I can download on it, stream for hours and game on it wit no issues at all. I use 5ghz for most things and 2.4ghz for streaming as my streaming device doesn't support 5ghz. No issues with any of it.The external antenna is great as I can put them up on the table instead of being stuck behind the pc and it makes it easy to move around a bit if you need a better signal. Cable for it could have been slightly longer but its easily long enough to get from a pc on the floor up to a desk.Of course your performance may vary depending on how much interference you have and how many other people are using wifi nearby on the channel you have chosen. Use something like "inssider" to scan the wifi in your area and see which channels have less people on them and then use those channels. Avoid *partially* overlapping other wifi networks as this just causes both networks to see each other as noise, if you have to use a channel that overlaps another network then you are better to use the SAME channel as them so that you completely overlap, the 2 networks then see that it is another wifi network rather than interference and can live together better to share the bandwidth rather than if you have a partial overlap of your signal which just results in them constantly fighting each other as they think it's noise.

Ive had this for about 2 weeks now and I'm impressed . Before I have been using a powerline setup for my pc as its in a upstairs bedroom and wifi was always flaky with a wifi card but this product has changed that. My down load speed has increased from the router to my pc and my ping has reduced even though I'm using wifi. I only have a BT hh5 modem/router and ive noticed a difference with my wifi .This card never dropped the signal once since ive had it maybe good luck or just a real good card time will tell. My speed from the hub to the pc is a rock steady 975.0 Mbps not the best but that's down to the router speed and a signal strength of 4 bars out of 5 and it never drops below 4 bars on the routers 5ghz signal I cannot wait to upgrade my router to Broadcom chipset to take advantage of the speed boost this will give me paired with this card. this product gets 5 stars from me .Update : I have paired this with the new Linksys EA9500 AC5400 Max Stream MU-MIMO wireless router and it works brilliantly . In the same room as the router I'm getting 2.1 Gbps on the 5GHz band and upstairs where the pc sits normally I'm getting 1.5Gbps which I think is great . A huge improvement from the BT homehub 5.

Tested in conjunction with the Asus RT-AC87U Router.To test it I popped a Sandisk Extreme USB3.0 memory stick into the router. I have a 3.1GB ISO of Windows 7 Home Premium on the SSD of my PC (upstairs). I installed the Asus PCE-AC68 adapter on 5.0GHz AC with beam-forming enabled. I copied the ISO from the PC to the USB memory stick and got 1058Mbps. Holy bandwidth Batman! That’s beating a wired gigabit Ethernet connection! OK my PC is in the room directly above the router, but that is still impressive for a USB file transfer over WiFi. The copy was running at an average of 25MB/s and the whole copy took a little over 2 minutes.With the recommended ports forwarded, I was getting an average ping of 10 on UK servers of BF3. I played for over three hours without a SINGLE hitch, lag spike, rubber band or dropped connection. I suppose I had just gotten use to the occasional stutter, so it was very noticeable in its absence.I have a 100MB down service from Virgin Media. Whenever I ran Speedtest.net with my TP-link 2.4GHz 400Mbps USB adapter connected to the Superhub I would get it hovering around the 80MB mark on a good day (right after a Superhub power-cycle). Typically though it would be more like 60 to 70MB. With this router and the PCE-AC68 adapter it ALWAYS maxes out at 107MB down.The magnetic base is very strong and the cable is long of you are planning on mounting on your case. You'll struggle if you want it further away though. The Asus utility is straight-forward and easy to use, and provides useful network status and connection info.My only minor quibble is that the PCIE backplate (where you connect the aerials) has an absurdly bright blue LED to flash when there is traffic. At night this lights up my room so I've blacked it out with a CD marker pen. No stars off for this though. The performance so far has been perfect.

Tout est dans le titre : à l'étage le wi-fi 6E fonctionne à merveille : 700 Mb/s en débit descendant avec la Box fibre au rez de chaussée. Ca me change de l'adsl qui plafonnait à 15Mb/s.J'ai attendu quelques mois avant d'écrire ce commentaire , histoire de voire comment se comporte cette carte dans le temps.Rien à signaler : c'est un achat sans risque.

Disposant d'une carte mère Rog strix B550F WIFI 2 sans les antennes, après un déménagement dans un endroit où les murs sont très épais et avec uniquement une connexion Wifi, je n'arrivais même pas à capter la box. J'ai donc fais le choix de prendre cette carte wifi avec les antennes dans l'espoir de pouvoir capter la wifi et j'ai été très agréablement surpris par l'efficacité de celles-ci ! Maintenant je capte très bien la box et la connexion est très fluide et rapide ! Cela me permet d'aller sur internet et même de jouer à des FPS compétitif avec un ping entre 15 et 25,30. Le fait de pouvoir placer les antennes ou l'on veut autour et ou sur le PC grâce aux aimants présents en dessous et de pouvoir les dirigées dans la direction souhaitée et très utile !
