Monument2361 2361 OMAT Soldering Matt

You need the "Gold" Version of this product = Part Number 2359Y if you are using MAPP Gas to solder. This 2361 Mat isn't rated for MAPP gas high temperatures and will burn. Don't ask me how I know! :-)

Used this to protect surroundings from scorching whilst soldering some copper pipes. It was effective and none of the surroundings were scorched. It was reasonably thick and stiff so not able to get to all corners and restricted spaces, but where it was possible, then it was effective...

I am so pleased with this soldered mat, very good quality and stands up to the heat.

Did the job well. I was working in Tight spaces near floor joists etc. Obviously it wont defy the laws of physics and a little scorching is unavoidable. But it does protect other soldered pipes and woodwork to a good degree. Just don’t expect impossible miricals!!

Great idea putting a hole in a heatshield. This allows you to put it around the pipe being soldered rather than struggling to hold it behind and the risk of it falling down just when needed. Been using it with Mapp gas and have had no problems. Great product.
