Works well, quality tool
Good quality tool, very sturdy.Main thing to be aware of is that it comes covered in oil (to prevent rust) so you'll want to wipe this thing down really well so you don't get oil on the carpet the first few times you use it. And I mean, REALLY wipe it down, ever piece, inside and out. I was cramming paper towels through each tube to get the oil off.But overall, it does what it says: it stretches carpet, and works well in all different sizes of rooms. It puts way more torque on carpet than a knee kicker, absolutely no comparison.

Satisfied
Is pricey but in fairness I couldn’t find a cheaper good quality one so I pulled the trigger and bought. Does take a little time to figure out what poles to use in each situation but did it’s job. Feels very heavy duty

Poor mailing packaging
Poor mailing packaging.. stretcher case was so heavy that it pressed latches to flat and unusable. Came with one Latch missing and one in the box floating around getting destroyed by heavy stretcher. Product was fine and everything worked as it should.

Great for do it yourself people
I needed a stretch on my living room carpet and needed an 11X14 room installed. Installer wanted $100 for my house and $150 to install the 11X14 room doing it as a "on the side" job for him. So I bought this. Total price was $415. I need another room installed, so with another $150 to do that, I have my money back and could still sell this stretcher and be ahead of the game. Watch lots of install videos on you tube and you can do your own installs with this stretcher. I'm glad I bought it.

perfect for an old guy
Now that I'm an old guy, kicking in carpet is not doable..... old age... just not strong enough... This tool made it possible to do the job, kick in a 18 foot living room.... very good quality tool, the finish is perfect, storage box is keeps things neat and made transport easy....

A lightweight Powerhouse that gets the job done
Solidly built with a lightweight head that makes maneuvering throughout a room less of a chore than more bulky power stretchers, but no less sturdy than units twice its price. I'm very pleased with the function so far, but If I had to offer constructive criticism I'd say adding an adjustable tooth depth dial for the head would send it over the top for me. The two screws are no bother to adjust the depth but a dial would be nice and I'd be willing to pay an additional $30 or so for just that as an option; still keeping it within the budget price range, if this was feasible and cost-effective in manufacturing

Beast for your bucks
Holly Holly, this stretcher is a beast nailing my carpet without a sweat. Seeing my carpet stretched out about 2 inches per stroke really satisfies me. I must say this stretcher really beats all those knee kickers to quality installation. Good thing, I double secured all the tack strips before hand. Feeling like a pro, now.Don't be fooled by that red knob. It's not a needle adjusting dial. To adjust the depth of the teeth, use a flat screwdriver and play around with 2 screws at the bottom of the spiking head. However, it's not a big deal, you need set the teeth once based on carpet thickness. It fooled me once, so you know it. It's just a tiny handle to life the head. I would use the lever instead.I hate the white spongy thin pad on the wall holder. It peeled as I rolled and slide the holder along a wall. So, I cut out a piece of scrap carpet and hot glued it to the holder. It worked better and slided smoothly. It's not an invention, but just a solution I like it, and i own it now. Probably, only mine is faulty. However, sellers and manufacturers should look into it and improve it somehow. Use something more firm and glue better.Overall I am satisfied with my investment on this beast carpet stretcher.
