Perfect fit for 8in Evolution
I bought this for my wife's NexStar evolution 8in, the case is a perfect fit with thick (approx 30mm) padding all round and a strap for additional security, the lid has an inner zipped compartment with pockets for eyepieces etc and with wheels it makes moving what is a heavy telescope a lot easier. It's not cheap but when you consider the value of the telescope it protects it's worth it.

Sturdy, safe, worth it.
I bought this case for my NexStar 8se. It doesn't have enough room for the computerized mount, however the OTA fits perfectly. The other side of the case has ample room for all of the accessories that came with my scope (star diagonal, accessory tray, eyepiece, finderscope etc.) so it keeps everything you need for travel. Although it is quite pricey for what you get, it's worth it for keeping your scope and essentials safe; DEFINITE recommendation.

The best protection for your telescope, but overpriced...
Plenty of room inside for a telescope OTA and some accessories (depending on size). Excellent all-around padding, however the pouch which holds the accessories may rub against the OTA so use with care. As usual with Celestron accessories, a bit overpriced, would be better value at 50-70% of the current price.

Not value for money
For well in excess of £500, I expected to find a completely moulded foam inlay which the scope sits in, instead I got a well padded case with 2 cushions, (which are not relevant for my 8SE) and a restraining strap; however, the case is sturdy and well padded. Had I have known what I was getting I would not have bought this, it is at a grossly inflated price and should be offered at £300 - 350 max. As stated previously, not value for money. Nice case.
Bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. This is a fantastic storage case for scope and accessories.

Forgot what they are called lol) have pretty deep separate sections (with no padding inbetween)
Got this for my Celestron NexStar 8SE. I must say the case is all well cushioned all around. See the pic with the lid open. You can see how thick the foam padding around it is. Then the zipped away bit has 2 separate pockets with the flap covers (that have sticky stuff on them. Forgot what they are called lol) have pretty deep separate sections (with no padding inbetween). Between the 2 pockets as you can see there is empty space that you can use to store away some other stuff in their own cases. That all said, I must point out that the pull bar is very basic with no height adjustability. But considering I'm just a beginner who has insufficient knowledge to pad up an old travel bag to do the same job as this bag and that the Celestron NexStar 8SE is not really a cheap telescope, investing in a professionally made case like this is a safe way to go. Plus its all ready for travel at anytime :-)

Does not fit Evolution 6 telescope
This is apparently a case for the Evolution 6. It is not. It only fits the Nexstar 6. Do not buy for the Evolution series.

I am so happy that I made this purchase. I had a hard time with the high cost but I was so excited when it arrived. It will not only hold the optical tube but all of the accessories, with the exception of the tripod. It is sturdy but be aware that it takes up a lot of real estate! It's huge! If you don't plan to take the scope anywhere then I would say don't get it. I wouldn't pay this amount just for a storage bag but since I plan to transport, it's a must in my mind. It will keep my investment safe so to me, that's worth it.

Rempli son office mais attention ne permet que de transporter un tube de 9" se, pas de place pour trepier ou accessoires.

This is a great case. Much better than using the box my Nexstar 6se was shipped in. For a while I tried using a rubbermaid bin and reusing the foam packaging, but it was not that convenient to carry around. You couldn't carry it one handed. One side holds your scope. For the 6se you wont need the two foam spacer inserts. To get the 6se to fit, you need to stretch the case foam a bit to clear the visual back and focuser. At first I was concerned about the pressure of such a snug fit, but the foam does give a bit so it is fine. Be aware that the 4/5/6se will fit with the mount attached, but for the 8se you will need to remove the mount. Only the 8se optical tube will fit. The picture on the insert of the case (check out the pictures on the celestron site to see what I mean) shows the OTA placed with the hand control on the right and the bolt that attaches the tube to the fork arm pointing up, however I had to insert it reversed (mirrored) for that to work. In other words, when I place the OTA in the case I have the hand control on the left so the fork arm knob points up. If I placed it as the pamphlet showed, the knob would be pointing down and I think that would prevent it from laying truly flat. I had to remove the finderscope, not to mention the diagonal. The 4/5se might allow room to have them attached, but I wouldn't bet on it. It also has a nice seat belt buckle to secure it. The other side has a slightly rigid zippered flap the size of the entire side. It is recessed so as to have enough clearance when the case is closed. Unzipping the flap and lifting it up reveals it has a full length pocket on the other side. You could possibly fit notes and small starcharts within it. I place my eyepiece tray in it even though part of it sticks out. No worries since when the flap is zipped everything inside is separated from the OTA. Underneath where the flap lays, there are two velcro closed pouches. Inside one pouch there are three separated spaces. The other pouch has four. In one pouch, I could easily fit the finderscope, the diagonal, and AC power cord. The other pouch will accommodate eyepieces, filters and other odds and ends. The pouches themselves feel slightly padded as well. The handles include a velcro wrap to make sure the straps stay together. The outer shell is a bit rigid, but I would not go about dropping or banging it around. Don't expect to step on it and not crunch something inside. It is a vessel to store your OTA and accessories elegantly and convenient to carry around one handed. While the case itself looks like it would withstand normal wear and tear, I wouldn't want to cause any damage to it that would affect the contents inside. Do yourself a favor and get this case. While it is hard to justify the cost of this as opposed to a DIY solution. This is designed for your scope and it is worth it in my opinion.
