I've recently had a few trees felled in our garden and want to rot down the stumps as quickly as possible. I started by drilling some holes in the stumps, then adding strong weed/stump killer. I then hammered in a number of these nails, be aware that they're quite soft and so bend easily. For harder wood, I found it necessary to drill pilot holes before hammering them in. I can't say how effective they've been as its too soon to tell, but hopefully they do their job. Once we get some dry weather I'll then add potassium nitrate to the holes in the stumps to accelerate the degradation further. I hope you find my review helpful.

The nails do there job

They might work eventually , I don’t know . I won’t live long enough to find out . If you want to get rid of a tree stump , grind it out or like I have done chainsaw it down to below ground level cover it with soil and let nature do its job

These were just right. Strong, quality nails. I have ivy growing in my garden and I really needed something to get rid of it. These have worked really well. Dug down to fond the root, hammered them in and just waited. Its gradually dying. I will be purchasing more if need be as the ivy is covering my fence.

Great but very easy to bend so I ended drilling a small hole first and then tapping in the nail in .

I had previously tried to kill a tree which had outgrown the garden by removing a complete ring of bark which is supposed to work, but didn't even trouble it in the slightest. The tree is on a slope and some of the roots were exposed. I pu a few nails into these and the tree was dead within a few months.

Copper nails look good, but whether they actually kill the tree, I will have to wait a few years to see if they were effective

He leido que hay también herbicidas, pero por posibles filtraciones que pudieran llegar a un huerto próximo, creo que esta es la mejor solución. El paquete está compuesto por 30 unidades que miden unos 6,5 cm de largo y unos 3mm de ancho. Saludos.

Bevor jetzt jemand das allgemeine Baumsterben auf meinen Einkauf hier zurückführen möchte: Ich habe Nägel mit einer hohen Wärmeleitfähigkeit gesucht, und da sind Kupfernägel im Verhältnis Leistung/Kosten einfach unschlagbar. Meine Bewertung bezieht sich deshalb auch NICHT auf die Tauglichkeit in Sachen Baumbekämpfung. Die Nägel sind sauber verarbeitet, haben für Kupfer zwar eine etwas zu dunkle, aber dennoch akzeptable Färbung, angenehme Haptik, sind unmagnetisch und leiten in-der-Tat recht gut Wärme. Ungewöhnlich für Kupfer ist die hohe Steifigkeit (Legierung?). Es sollte also kein Problem darstellen, tatsächlich einen Baum damit zu "beglücken". Allerdings ist meinen Nachforschungen zufolge die Kupfernagel-Baumkiller-Methode recht ineffizient. Schneller und sauberer geht es mit einer Kettensäge... Mittlerweile habe ich diese Nägel auch in einer Nicht-Baumkiller-Version gefunden. Wer also Angst um seinen guten Ruf hat, sollte noch eine Ecke weitersurfen. Update: Das Zauberwort heißt "Kaltverfestigung". Drähte und Nägel werden aus einem dicken Draht gezogen, wobei sie immer dünner werden, je länger sie gezogen wurden. Dabei verfestigt sich das Material. Der typische Kupfer-Elektrodraht wird anschließend wieder (weich-) geglüht, wodurch er wieder biegsam wird. Nägel werden nicht geglüht. Dadurch sind sie um ein vielfaches härter, als Drähte, obwohl sie aus dem gleichen Material bestehen.
