Nice story, easy to read for first time independent reading, not too long (just enough to keep their attention) and nice drownings again to enhance and keep them interested. My daughter loves those stories and she picks them without any prompting from me and she likes to retell them also.

Thought my little boy would love this but he wasn't keen on it at all. Reminded me of the magic faraway tree except with less fun and child orientated.boring!!!!!!!!!!!! Didn't hold my interest either and I was trying to be enthusiastic introducing it to my son.

my 7 year old kids are reading these at school but the school is missing some of them so they were really happy when they got the first 4 books. It's great read, informative and well written, stories inspire their imagination.

Great birthday gift for my 7 year old niece who wanted chapter books. Kids fall in love with the characters who become their friends and they travel right along with them as discovers, detectives and researchers of exciting new places!! Easy for kids to become addicted to reading this series.
